Thanks for this nice article. True, Google Play Music is pretty lame and that is why I am annoyed that more and more smartphones have it as their default music player.
Either, Google should improve the Play Music app or makers should include their another music player app . The old Android's default music player was nice and the Samsung Music app has also been an excellent solution for off-line music.
flaw, 05 Jun 2017use neplayer or onkyo app for playing Hi-Res music. Thanks but looks like their UI not satisfying. I installed Sony Music app on my ASUS Zenfone 3 but no show HR (Hi-Res) icon on my songs which are Hi-Res capabilities.
Looking for other alternative that can show Hi-Res icon on Hi-Res songs
This are not best, just most downloaded.
Mine is best: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.itbuilds.musicplayer
Beyond, 05 Jun 2017Can tell me which music app got show Hi-Res icon on music?use neplayer or onkyo app for playing Hi-Res music.
several years using android, best (third app) music player for android to me are pulsar and apollo.
Google Play Music is a pathetic music player for playing local audio files. I like MIUI 8 Music Player App, it's just too good. Samsung Music Player is pretty good too but Samsung had some sort of an agreement with Google to pre-install crappy Google Play Music on all their phones. Black Player is another good music application with plenty of customisation options.
Abhi, 05 Jun 2017Oh where is the powerAmp, everyone's favourite Yeah, PowerAMP is the boss! ;)
Have some reading classes people.
'Did you know there are options other than Google Play Music and Poweramp?'
Was in search of a decent music player and this list is pretty useful, thanks GSMArena.
Sony's music app is very good
