s8's figures haven't been included. Obviously anticipation is high for the s8 so people held off buying the s7. And if they did buy an s7, it was third party ebay/gumtree which doesn't contribute to samsung. s8 has a strong number behind it that will be more realistic. A lot of close die hard apple friends have got the s8 recently after seeing it in person from growing purchases.

most people I know who have I phones buy them for image.when they see what a good android phone can do they get frustrated how limited there phones are unless they want to jailbreak.

Many iphone users claim iOS software is awesome and nothing can beat that unlike Android which lags. Gone are the days when 1GB RAM android phones which were norm that used to lag. Many people are obsessed with materialistic possession and feel proud about having Apple device. In a random population, many people can't even tell some technical advantages over other phones and at some point regret about lack of storage, lesser battery backup and smaller screen size which limits some multimedia experience.

For Apple it doesn't cost them a lot to make a phone and they are selling them with extra extra extra premium price and people are still buying them.

The reason you want an iPhone is too be cool when around your social circle and not to be behind other people. If they have iPhone, they are the cooler guys and people will have less interest in you. You know that, you feel it, so now go get an iPhone and stop making excuses (you know I am right).

The difference between a $800 phone and $200 phone is mostly insignificant. There are good phones from Xiaomi, Huawei and other good OEMs.
I am not a photographer or obsessed with selfies so I don't need a high end camera just to capture some documents and some occasional snaps. But I do consider good quality sound output from the headphone jack.
Not whining or complaining about what other people buying or like, I was stating my spending habit on mobile phones. I don't care what other people buy or can afford, I spend my money on what I think is reasonable and really worth spending my honestly earned money on.

"Reports say the South Korean tech giant is struggling to improve its profitability "due to market saturation and generally falling margins."
So, what this means is Samsung doesnt overpriced their products like everyone suggest. It's no suprise really. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ is the most priciest smartphone to built. Heck, even their midrange is pricier to built compared to similar specs chinese phone. Quality products there. But few would get what I meant and only look at the specs.
And why you all hating on Apple for? They make high quality products that suits the price. Not to mention they also support their devices far longer than any other manufacturer.

Yes it's a ruthless corporation but it's consumers like you that are bending over for a backshot from them.
iPhone owners know they have an inferior/low cost to produce phone yet are buying it 'for show'.
What about the person that wants to spend $800 on a phone that cost nearly as much to make and isn't assembled cheaply (profit margins indicate), and has the better specs? They buy their phone not considering the resale but that they have the best device while they own it.

Like: Apple A10 Fusion is mich pricier to produce just because it is much bigger than SD821 and Exynos 8890. And they can either push single core to max or use as many cores as possible, it is personal preference and is not cheaper nor more expensive. You just seem like a frustrated person having to admit that the almost 3/4 years old iPhone 7 is still the fastest phone on plante and hence faster than its S8/3T/XZ Premium/U11/Mi 6
