6.44 inch display is very big, it is not easy to carry, not pocket-able (when you running the 6.44 inch screen will become a big burden in the pocket), difficult handle with one hand, difficult operate with one hand, drop damage very easy.

But it is good for typing in portrait with both hands. Larger display compare to 5.5~6 inch display to playing movie watching YouTube reading website operate the multi-windows in Android 7.1.1 just missing the advance drawing features.

Front camera 5MP is not enough for selfie atleast 8MP for 2017, no selfie LED light, no OIS selfie. Can't imagine the selfie is for nothing, don't expect the selfie on this phone.

Mi series is for the flagship name. Redmi series is for low and mid name. So why is this called Mi Max instead of Redmi Max? The chipset is not suitable for flagship grade. Shame naming for Xiaomi phone..

Not interested in big screen run by weak chipset. For such a huge screen, it makes sense to put in a SD652 or the newer 660, at least. SD 821 would be ideal, not wanting to cannibalize the latest SD835.

Clearly a downgrade in terms of the most important thing, performance. Might have a better camera or longer battery life but day to day usability will take a hit. Try running Dead Trigger 2 on ultra settings on a snapdragon 625 chipset and see how capable it is.

Parallel imports. There are plenty of models range from Pixels to Mi to Moto that is not available officially but you can get it through parallel importers.

A very good option for its related segment (price, size, specs, brand, etc).
