I've rooted it done all sorts of mods to get the thing to run smooth. Nada. hiccups when playing music movies, lag is unbearable. Poor reception. Its a POS and don't get me started on customer service. Samsung isn't considering updating it in the future which means i'd have to buy a new phone to get a legit stock OS. Else i'm hacking it in. I'm seriously ready to go back to apple based on this. If not HTC, till they screw me over. Then I'll probably design my own phone and go to the moon to kill kittens with Steve jobs imaginary friend Mr I'm right and theres nothing you can say that'll change my mind.
GALAXY S is two times better with all of its specs compare to the iphone 4 .. noting against the apple company but your just paying for the name of your phone not the tech .. coz if you are really wise and a tech person you will know the samsung GALAXY S should not be and vnever be compared with the small iphone 4 tech.. soory but its the truth
Anonymous, 24 Apr 2011sorry but I can't agree. Competition is about make better than your opponent not copying them.... moreThey are not copy cats. Like stated a bazillion times! These phones look a like as cars, computers, cameras, and chairs look a like. Samsung is plenty innovative. Both phones are simple design bar slabs with minimal buttons. Within keeping a simple design it is not going to look light years differetn, yet at the same time there is definitely noticable differences. Apple can no try and claim to own the look a bar phones.
Anonymous, 24 Apr 2011sorry but I can't agree. Competition is about make better than your opponent not copying them.... moreFor those that say that Galaxy S is equal to the iPhone 3, they probably haven't ever held both mobiles in their hands... The feel of each one is completely different... The only thing you might say they're the same... heck, the back is different, the front has different buttons... They resemble each other as a Seat resembles a BMW... Some simmilarities and nothing else... As to not being innovative with the software, hey, you wanna blame someone for copying iOS, blame Google. The Android looks what it looks like, and even with such excelent work some brands do in customizing Android, there's so much you can do... So, why won't Apple sue Google?
Apple must think that the iPhone is the shiny beacon in a dark mobile phone world... Problem is, there is light all around the iPhone... Some day Apple will start selling cars and will sue BMW and Audi and all the other brands because they'd be copying Apple... I think Steve should start selling lamps and then sue God for putting the light-giving sun in the sky... :D
nash, 23 Apr 2011Well Apple wants to have the dominace microsoft has but in the mobile world. They sue everybody... moresorry but I can't agree. Competition is about make better than your opponent not copying them. Competition with Apple is what Motorola, Sony Ericsson, RIM and Nokia do: Making new fresh products or completely different from apple (like RIM does) and supply consumers with an alternative to an equally good product.
What Samsung does is called copy, plagiarism. They do not innovate. Maybe in hardware but never in design or software terms.
Don't know if Apple as a basis to sue but the truth is this Samsung is a glorified copy cat. Nothing more, nothing less.
Anonymous, 23 Apr 2011works both ways. apple is samsung's valued customer. hence so many of Job's provocative words ... moreRetina display refers to the resolution, not the type of display. And yes the reason a lot of companies didn't get samoleds was because there is not enough. Samsung has to buy a huge expensive factory to mass produce and they plan on it, but it will cost a fortune. Also i doubt Apple would've been smart enough to get them anyway.
Anonymous, 23 Apr 2011If you read the analysis by Nilay Patel you will know that Apple has a solid case. Also it'... moreFirst off. Your whole message is irrelevant. Apple does not have any real grounds to sue Samsung. Secondly that IS the meaning of biting the had that feed. lol. Samsung supplies Apple, Apple is trying to sue them, they are biting the hand that feeds. You can not enter the phone business where everything looks the same, claim that all of a sudden that anything that looks like this now is yours, then sue everyone who makes an electronic. Also all dang icons look the same. Apple are just greedy tyrants.
Well Apple wants to have the dominace microsoft has but in the mobile world. They sue everybody for anything thinking that everything that comes out is their property.Grow up Apple. This is competition and others will take your ideas and improve on them or make an original spin on it so this is life. You got to accept that others can come up with a better product as well. Personally, i think Iphones are overhyped and the buble is bursting
Samsung say F off apple.. i not gonna supply u any more parts..... so ther egone the iphone n ipad~ :P

Also it'... moreworks both ways. apple is samsung's valued customer. hence so many of Job's provocative words in his presentation about Samsung, but this is the reason they stayed quiet.
IF sammy and apple fall apart? sorry but Apple will will their shoes with who? there is a reason why apple buys from samsung. Remeber super AMOLED that never made to ip4 in favour of 'retina display'? Was it really due to superiority of retina or because of lack of SAMOLED?
I work on a mobile phone store... Never has a client come to a store and buy Samsung instead of iPhone by mistake... So what if they say the looks were stolen... Most people care about performance than looks...
Also, granted that Galaxy S is 90% look-a-like iPhone 3... but in the 10% of difference there, I prefer Galaxy S everyday... and at least it doesn't have a "correct way" to hold it during calls...
AnonD-6819, 23 Apr 2011Lawsuit on Galaxy s physical design and user interface.
Lets discuss about Physical iphone ... moreSamsung F700 is said to be announced just one month after iPhone 2G. Those phones are quite similar indeed. Do Apple really claim Samsung copyied the iPhone design (long before it made any sucess and long before it even reached the market) in just one month?
Samsung Galaxy series is obiously following the design of F700, not iPhone 3GS. And I guess you might say F700 is a remake of i700, removing some buttons and stuff, but that might be stretching it a bit.
So the question about the design comes down to when Samsung finished the design of F700, and when F700 and iPhone 2G were first shown/leaked..
