The only reason that most pro apps need a mouse is because mice came first, give 20 years headstart for touch + pen (even 10 may be enough) and you'd get plenty productivity suite for them as well.

Software is not easy, it needs time and money. Provided that both are/we paid then you'd start having increasingly more powerful suites on iPad pro as well. The hardware is already up to snuff...

You have to remember that Photoshop was not built in a day, early Photoshop iterations were pretty basic and ... Frankly bad. It took Photoshop a solid decade before its gets to the point of becoming the defactlo photo manipulation editor that the industry uses. Same is true for any other type of pro software.

There is such thing as maturation process for software. IPad pro not even 2 years old ... Give it time.
