lacp, 09 Jun 2017The sales of the Galaxy S8/S8+ have been a sucess, you are completely wrong.Correct, I have the GS8 and love it.
Will go down as one of THE best selling Galaxy S devices. Pure innovation with the 'Infinity display'.
I was/am a fan of the under the display fingerprint scanner until I mused what if you dropped the device and cracked the screen. Would the scanner still work?
If not maybe best Samsung place it in a more convenient position on the back of the phone or come up with an alternative.
PLAYER SLAYER, 10 Jun 2017Easy fix for your problems, just tell the scanner to turn back on when you need it.No longer a fast option to using fingeprint if you need to manually disable and enable it.
SmartKid, 08 Jun 2017You seems sooo smart, Samsung should hire someone like you.Appreciate the sarcasm, 'Smart' Kid
Polius, 08 Jun 2017If it disabled after unlocked then how would you use it for security like opening secure folde... moreEasy fix for your problems, just tell the scanner to turn back on when you need it.
AnonD-509203, 08 Jun 2017Since it is a note series phone, Samsung may let you take notes while the phone is locked like... moreThough you wouldn't unlock the phone while taking notes, nor would you even though the screen with your finger, since to get to the note-taking screen, you need to take out the S-Pen, first.
Utter disaster! They are out of their mind! An unsusable fingerprint reader??? How dare they???? Unbelievable!!!
Aint killing anyone if it is on the back. Give us something more interesting for God sake Samsung
Anonymous, 09 Jun 2017Actually this is a simple programming problem.. Nothing to do with hardware.. As a programmer ... moreFoolish programmer. Most likely a kid begging on XDA forums.
A true programmer will never state his man-hours, without knowing the problem first hand.

Polius, 08 Jun 2017If it disabled after unlocked then how would you use it for security like opening secure folde... moreActually this is a simple programming problem.. Nothing to do with hardware.. As a programmer I reckon I could conjure up the solution in 3 hours LOL.. But then I'm not working for Samsung so good luck to Samsung programmers.. If you fail to program it just provide the hardware and disable it and then let the other creative genius programmers at XDA to enable it and put it to use LOL
AnonD-640318, 08 Jun 2017I'm no tech expert and have no technical knowledge about sensors but i'm also curious about ho... moreSamsung use CrucialTech as shown in the report, which only recently is doing the embedded fingerprint tech.
Apple have it long time ago in patents.. so not suprising they should have R & D very long already.
So if Note do not have is ok. But if iPhone do not have, it is major shame!
How about tapping the home three times to activate fingerprint capture or a long press using flat thumb or using voice and bixby or hammering the screen or a long slow lick the screen, that would set new standards.
How about using the 3d touch feature did to apple's screen? pressing it with force to unlock/unlock the device? and then once coded, add some more features unto it like disabling the fingerprint scanner(w/ 3d touch) once phone is in use to avoid unnecessary fingerprint scanning, well, at least it will lessen the problem. kind a help though.
