Anonymous, 12 Jun 2017Where is China in the list? Is China same as Africa? Even rural area of Northwestern China... moreRelax. China has agenda to follow, so this might be on the list but much later. They have the potential to be ranked number one.

My recent experience in Lithuania gives me impression that using Tele2 network I can get 70Mbps+ in almost any corner of the country. When using Telia dongle I was able to get ~142Mbps down and 170 up. This makes sense considering 280% coverage of LTE (yes - country is covered 2.8 times over). It seems the list looks at LTE+ or LTE++ access. I guess the averages the speeds doesn't really show real penetration rates and speeds, because it doesn't take into account plans restriction i.e. somebody has plan which gives speeds of up to 20mbps, or only 2GB data on full speed and 512kb/s afterwards. So that doesn't mean only 70% of country is covered, or only 45 Mbps speeds are available, but rather reflects on what users subscribes to. As well in Lithuania smartphones penetration rates are low in comparison which explains why there is no demand for high speed LTE+ and LTE++. If the percentage of smartphones capable of LTE+ and LTE++ would be higher the infrastructure is already there to support it.

sorry but this must be false at least on speeds. 4G speed at Vodafone Portugal everytime I test it(as part of my current job) it gives me values between 70 and 100 mbps..

Even rural area of Northwestern China is covered by 3 LTE networks. I could watch Youtube HD (roaming service on China Unicom network) on bullet train which runs at 300KM per hour from Shenzhen to Xi'an. The trip is 2200KM in 9.5hrs.

Woh, pretty impressive to see Canada ranking in the top 20 not only in LTE coverage, but also in speed despite it being the second largest nation. Also very interesting that speeds are way slower in the US, despite the fierce competition in the cellular provider market...wonder how Canada would perform if we had our own version of T-Mobile disrupt the market here in Canada.

While Japan doesn't need to consume that much speed to get the job done.

                                        MBPS and Mbps are different.
                                        10 MBPS = 80 Mbps
Fiber Optics in SL is around 100 Mbps as per the service provider but on average achieve lower than that.
