Yawn. When are gonna see something new? The industry has stalled out and we're seeing the same thing over and over again from every manufacturer. Flagships aren't worth the price right now, especially Google whose pixel devices offer nothing except 3years of the latest update. Big whoop.

We can see first pixel design is looks like htc design but with curvy edges on the back, hope pixel 2 design is different and bezelless. Imo, pixel2 should use similar design language (boxy) as pixel c tablet or like sony z5

Same res as the Essential PH-1, so I think that's what it might be. I like it and hope the aspect ratio is that including the software buttons - slightly taller but not so much that you can't reach the top and bottom of the screen with a one handed grip.
No idea what the author means by the nav buttons not being counted as that would add pixels to the height, not width... I don't think that's the case and instead they have gone for a slightly taller aspect ratio.

Exactly what I was thinking. It's should be close to 18:9, more specific about 17.6:9. Take 1312/9×17.6. or 1312÷9.1×17:8 and you got about 17.8:9

I guess nothing as of now, can truly rival the XZ Premium, even the S8 twins won't want to compete with it either.
Just needs an OLED and it'll surely be a total killer.

If you compare the results to the current Pixel XL, you'll see they list the dimensions without removing the navigation bar. The navbar also normally reduces the 2560 dimension not the 1440, at least in portrait.
So if the results are genuine, then the XL2 appears not to be using a 16 * 9 aspect ratio screen.

Not much needed to change anyway. Love my XL. Just cut the bezel a lot, obviously by keeping a normal aspect ratio (unlike S8), not some tall nuisance, and put in a big aperture camera hardware, done really. Rest Android O will do.

In the past two years an Android user loses nothing from the latest google upgrades, they add nothing and are full of bugs that need more than a year to be sorted out.
Add that HTC's huuuge bezels that stayed with the 11nth one, that serves as the basis to the pixels. It's seems certain that the extraordinary large name will be honoured with those bezels, so I too the calculated risk, not to wait and grab that S8+ , wathcing This big bezel monster, having same ol specs, it seems that the bet came true!
