I've been using it since 2004 and loved it.
Version 8 for Android just killed it. I'm sick of these "social media" style sharing BS.

Skype's new design looks like crud & is unintuitive. I'm happy about all the dislikes it's getting in the PlayStore.

Going to uninstall and move to another tool. It simply removed all the phonenumbers related to my contacts in Skype, now I can't make a paid skype call (the only income Skype has) to my mother, from my phone. Really, Microsoft super engineers starting to mess with software they shouldn't? I don't know.. Anyway they lost a customer.

The new skype for Android is very problematic. They constantly change everything from scratch. Now everything is designed like for teenagers. I doubt that anybody who is only a little bit professional can really benefit from the interface. There is no point to discuss all the bad points, starting from sounds, coloring, functioning, etc. It is simply a step 10 years back.

Skype DID turn into another snapchat clone.

I hate these redesigns. Skype works great for what it is. Redesigning it just means I have to relearn the interface. Nothing but an annoyance. What happened to their being value in tried and true? Constant interface changes are the opposite of user friendly.

Another example of poor journalism by the 'author' saying "Because we needed yet another Instagram clone". Skype was released on August 29 2003 which precedes Instagram release on October 6 2010 by over 7 years. Get your facts right.

It's for Android 7.0 + devices only not for any android as mentionned in the news ;-)
It won't work with lollipop or marshmallow devices :(
