Yes, Samsung will update the J7 to nougat. Once it is released, you will get a OTA(update notification to Phone, so that you can update the Phone)

We are unable to speculate when/if this software revision might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion. Should this become available, it will be notified to Phone and you can reach the Best Buy store to update it as well. It is a free service

It is marketed under TMobile ... moreBut at the time I commented, the press treated as if it were the J7 2015 being upgraded to Android Nougat, and at the time there was no SM-J701, so I treated it like it was some mistake.
After it became clear that, in fact, it was about the certification of a new device to be released, which in fact was a new edition of the Galaxy J7 2015, and which subsequently was confirmed as Galaxy J7 Nxt or Galaxy J7 Neo.
