Galaxy S8 costs 600 bucks here off contract and the price will be dropping probably in the next months. Almost 500 euros for a Chinese phone with no proper customer support and unclear future support on the device - totally not worth it. They dropped the support of OnePlus 2 before the phone got even 2 years old. If you wanna be a flagship killer, you need to offer a flagship killer price. OnePlus now sells at the price of flagships

The problem istn't the price at launch, but that it never goes down afterwards. It's one thing buying flagship-grade with limited support for around 500€, but buying (ex)flagship-grade with limited support for around 500€ more than half a year later is another.
With fixed price, it is hard to justify buying +1 7 months after launch at a price that almost equals its rivals with proper service support.

Second. If OnePlus wouldn't be better than Xiaomi f.e., than explain their success and place between real flagships. Everybody, who is respectable in smarthphone and tech world accents 1+, not Xiaomi etc, that has it's reasons ;).
One of them is always great hardware, which comes with great software as well. What you are saying is nonsence, as the OP3T is one of the smoothest smarthphone on the market up to date. Only thing, which is really revolutionary in the smarthphone world has been infinity display at S8 and S8+, now others will just follow. Apple seems to do something similiar to what Essential did and to some extend what LG G6 did.
I am waiting at 20th and if the price wouldn't be horribly high, 550 €+, then I am buying this phone, as it offers great money/performance rating and with that you are getting flagship. Supposedly with great camera, great performance, great build and software.

They have the hardware but their software isnt properly calibrated to software. The user experience is good. But not great. Stop gng only by specs. And like how ur complaining sayingg that its value cuz samsung lg are way more expensivr i can also tell u that this phone is very pricy compared to mi series. Both phones made in same coubtry. Yet this costs 10k inr more. Plz justify that. N dont start off with mi phones arent good. They are way better then oneplus jn many ways. N the price diff is a lot.

Assuming that it has a 1080p screen like that 3T.

Oneplus 5 looks great and am sure it will be a great phone, but is it worth comparing it with Samsung Galaxy s8?
everyone knows when you hold an S8 in your hand it is a world apart from any other handset even the latest iphone. i wonder why everyone is comparing phones into different leagues.

I'm rather disappointed in the battery and screen departments. Initial rumours of a 3800 mAh battery sounded too good, but this is actually a downgrade from the 3T's 3400 mAh. And though I'm personally okay with the 1080p screen, there's a huge chunk of buyers who compare the devices spec for spec, and that's where it loses out. The design and pricing are a non-issue in my opinion, since Samsung and Apple are always pushing the upper limit envelope.
