The 'guide' on the screen itself is not scanning your finger on the S5. Lol. It is there for the purpose telling you where to swipe your finger. Only the home button is doing the scanning.

This is not a disruptive technology that will change smartphones. I could care less. I prefer iris scanner on my 950XL. It isn't perfect nor as fast as the Samsung one, though samsung one seems to be defeated with some work.
Authentication is still merely convenience. You still get the same screen with more power, more ram and run the same apps and do the same things.
