As far as it seems to me. Mainly it is for 3 major reasons, etc. 1, yes for the squeezing feature. 2, for its beautiful back panel colours. And 3 (probably the most?) Because they gave it the title of the best camera (phone) and so even beating (& D Pixel) the favorite S8 (duo). According to DxO, etc. Not according to me, because according to me I'm satisfied with the S8's camera. And in fact, all flagship's cameras are very good: U 11, G6, S8, XZ Premium, P10, etc. And even those still without this year's flagship, such as Pixel, iPhone, etc. Now among others (V30, etc) really looking forward for the Note's 8 dual camera setup.

HTC bought most of its camera sensors from Samsung this year.
who else still uses Sony sensors in 2017? Maybe Chinese phones like Vivo, Oppo uses them and Sony themselves.
Anyhow Sony deserves to bankrupt.
They fail miserably on bezels, low light camera and terrible battery performance.

Great pricing by htc U11 in India, at ₹51999, it is 6000 cheaper than the S8 and 8000 less than the XZ Premium. Hope htc gets good sales here in India too...

really happy for HTC that things are looking up for them.
Sadly I hate the design.
I really don't like glas bodies that is also the main reason why I switched to oneplus after I saw the design of the u11.
really love htc for their software but the body is something that turns me away from this phone.
Maybe in the future people will like metal bodies better again but for now I'm out.
Still best of luck to htc.
Hope they can get themselves back on track after years of people hating on them :)

So there is a high chance that sales guy goes bankrupt way before supplier (they have monopoly in sensors and other companies need them too) not to think about ps4

In 2017 I actually see LESS people rocking the new samsungs or sonys than ever.. at the end of the day both of them have overpriced their phones... HTC U11 is the only quality flagship thats realistically priced at $650..

Waterproof camera is all that matters. Also looks attractive in colors. Sony is the worst in all camera when compared to apple or samsung or htc...its pity all these phones use sony lens and kicking sony out...when will sony learns that its camera low light needs improvement. I was expecting xz premium to be better, now even htc has better camera...in india 128gb version available, so lucky

The key factor here is Pricing. At 650$ this phone is still better than any iPhone, LG G6, last year's Samsung flagships, and XZ premium 800$ which is selling in its own little world. It's good to see that HTC finally realised where they stand and it's a good start by them.
