why is nokia wasting resources for developing Windows Phone which has less than 3% of the market share n has a lot to be improved and ditching symbian which is fully developed and 31% of the mobile operating system market share! Meego and Windows Phone are at the same level still they are interested in WP7! this proves that zuma frog head with hippo body is working for Microsoft.
It is sad day for Nokia and the users. but I am not surprised how Symbian end up like this. Symbian should have opened the source codes for the developers 5 years ago. also Microsoft. Do you know the license fee for every windows mobile phone is USD 15-30 If you want to develop the Windows mobile applications, you have to pay far more expensive development fee.
For Android phone, so far the license fee is ZERO. Why Android is so popular and make a success in the short peroid, it is open-source code !!!!!
Screw Nokia...Google welcome and recruit those 4000 employee who lost their job into the team :D
nokia is totally fuckd upppp 4000 or 7000 developers doing what shitt till noww their new symbian os is still not up to the marks of android and iOS, messed up organisation it will sink after this decision!!!!
Good to know symbian won't die. Means I can still rely on Nokia until they reveal the WP7s.
Actually,M nokia fans,I love symbain.Symbain have stand for a long time coming, the only lacking is UI,if u can improve UI friendly,u will win the IOS and android. But,why?why?u choose WP7,U'r making a wrong decision, man. It seems like, good buy symbain user and symbain fans.Maybe most of nokia user are moving for android soon...Think again,NOKIA.
The song "my way", should sum all of this up...the finns did it their way...
while it is always not good to lay off human capital, it is inevitable under peculiar condition. I am still figuring out what keep Nokia away from Android if it is so useful. Perhaps the new CEO from microsoft has so much emotional attachment that he can't see anything else.
would anyone cares about buying x7 and e6 now? they did this because of the Q1 bloody result. a company was proud, arrogant lazy sitting at the top seat for so many year deserved bleeding like this, pity for those developers, hope they found a better way out.
AnonD-542, 27 Apr 2011I am a symbian user (i.e I am currently using a symbian phone, an S^3). And I truely feel that... moreAgree!
And update "Anna" is just a cheap way (trick) to show that they still support Symbian. In other words update "Anna" was just a thrown bone without meat to quench hungry for updates crowd.
Also I think that all upcoming NOKIA phones with Symbian OS, it is just a marketing trick to squeeze the last juices from Symbian OS and make some money without much hassle from something old and without a future. Now NOKIA is throwing all the forces to the Windows Phone OS in their devices and NOKIA phones wit Symbian OS are just without a future.
(Of course it is just mine opinion.)
People say, "leave symbian it is retarded! now they said good bye to it and folks start saying nokia is dying!
What is it that i need to say to elop?_ do what!!can say that we did just a mistake!!!!
what needs to be done to succes,(Android is not an option)
So we are seeing the end of Nokia. This is what happens when you glue yourself to one pathetic system (Symbian for Nokia) and don't follow the changing trends. Kinda makes me feel happy to see that.
no need for symbian devs now. its windows route. so they should retrain them into windows dev kits. not nice to lose your jobs good luck.
Myself, 27 Apr 2011I'm gonna be jumping ship to Android within the next two months. Too bad there isn't a single ... moreYou can try a Sony Ericsson phone, I think it's the closest to Nokia's. Shame. The N8-00, Ovi, and S^3 have so much potentials! All for nothing! That zuma-frog head on a hippo body really brought Nokia down, curse him!
Good bye Nokia, RIP! It was nice knowing you! You betray EU, Yahoo!, and Intel; a traitor doesn't end well!
nokia should also stop manufacturing phones. all that laggy phones with low end processor.
with 7k developers and after spending billions each yr... this OS is everything u can show?! .... OK, get rid of them ... good move!!!
I'm gonna be jumping ship to Android within the next two months. Too bad there isn't a single Android phone with HALF the build quality, battery backup, and flawless functionality of the E72(thatz the quality that only Nokia can make). Too bad I must now give that up for, well, Samsung Galaxy S II. And how does one live without Ovi Maps? Oh well, Im gna have to
