leledumbo, 23 Jun 2017Explain your term "broken".Broken as brake - broke - broken.
It doesn't calculate as it should & HMP along with CPU governor misbehave badly. You basically end up with 700-800 min frequency per cluster & it jumps of to max one with out of reason. Even calculated load barriers don't work... & I am a guy who does a lot of development so my middle finger goes to Qualcomm.

Clearly you don't understand the relationship problem. Source code is just one piece of the big cake. When you get 3rd party source code, you can't just directly integrate it with your own. SoC is not a complete phone, there are parts produced by other parties and it has to be connected with the SoC. As the secondary coder, it's not always obvious which part of the code must be modified and how to modify it to match the peripherals. Therefore, sometimes we need primary coder assistance. The latter is where the problem lies. Have you got your lesson now?

They release source's for x10 x20 x25 P10 P20 ... Slightly later than SD ... So their responsibility isn't problem in this case.... Problem is in xiaomi. If they don't want to upgrade Android version why don't give full source's to developers to make some custom ROMs... They just don't want to couse they don't care about budget costumers... Lg jus update k10 2016 to 7.0 with MTK quad and 1.5gb of RAM... I have my redmi pro and v20 now and really redmi worth the money bit why company don't care about pro device? Meizu pushed 7.0 for lot phones and they use only MTK and exinos chips... So it looks like flyme becoming better choice than miui.... Im just disappointed with xiaomi and i give alot of decent and valid reasons and arguments.... Forum is Hall of shame for MTK devices and you heard why... Not just you anyone else who read this or forum post... But company dont care... Note 3 MTK was MOST SOLD PHONE IN XIAOMIS HISTORY with capable hardware and they say no for nougat... Shame shame shame

I hope both QC and MTK will go down.

You said you study software engineering, right? I bet you haven't got into agile development class. No worry, you will eventually (otherwise, I would doubt your school's credibility). Xiaomi SDLC has been designed this way from the day 1. Developer ROM is updated weekly, with whatever shit the developers have committed for one week, including new bugs that they may introduce. You can consider developer ROM as tester ROM, as it's really not meant for production use.

                          > But what's with MTK devices?

Another thing to consider in agile development is priority. This is a complex decision process as it's not always a primary party only. In the case of MTK, if you ever get into them, they are not as responsive as Qualcomm and that slowness impact the development speed. So no need to wonder why Qualcomm devices get prioritized.

                          > Thats serious problem and deal breaker for me and lot of users... Can you got it now?

Yes, I got it. Now finish your school so you know how it feels to be in real world software development. It's not only you, not only your team, not only your company and not even only your company and its partners.

I study software engineering now and yeah its not eady pushing update every week but why they don't release update every month for example with some better optimisation not weekly with bugs and battery drain... I know there's a stable rom and ok that's fine. But what's with MTK devices? Why not push 7 to redmi pro for example... Hardware is more than capable with it and name PRO need to be a flagship of redmi series i use lg now couse that... Xiaomi don't care about mtk devices they produce!!! Maybe they just want to kill Xiaomi engineers who are already overworked. I'm a software developer, too, so I know how hard their work is to work at very low (and mid and high) level and has to maintain code for different devices with limited number of capable people.

Then got a miui 8 update, minor bug fix update, marshmallow update, 2 more minor bug fix (one probably had a security patch) then a major bug fix. Now waiting for nougat which has been in the works for a while now for the note 3 pro.

EDIT: there was probably another update. I forgot.
