I'd choose an Exynos Samsung S7 Edge over this which is cheaper, has a better screen, better camera, storage expansion, and CPU performance near the SD835. The only thing I don't like in the Samsung is still the glass back and the notorious bloat of its operating system.

OP doesn't have the glass at the back, efficient OS, and the SoC which is good for heavy 3D games.

Anyway, still no good phone yet this year. Let's see what else Xiaomi and Google do this year.

I bought the one plus one and am still using it. Maybe OP5 is fast and battery life is good cause it's using a 1080 screen in 2017, nobody knows and nobody can prove it.
One plus has done good with this release and no phone can be perfect. Maybe you can say it's just a tad bit cheaper than normal flagships around town but OP5 is no longer a cheap phone no matter how you spin it.

"curved edges that make it hard to hold the phone" As far as I have used different phones, every single phone with non-rounded/curved edges was unpleasant to hold in hand. The slippery-thing could be right, yes. :) I'm not that impressed by the OP5, still too small screen for my taste and not even that compact body. Uh-oh, no good.

1. why do you call Oppo to "small" company
2. currently (in silent) OnePlus filed for tax fraud in EU, they paid nothing VAT & TAX in 2016 (OP3 launch)

so, now this great company is in big trouble - I suppose OP5 500 euro is not accident

I'd rather buy a 2-3 year old Sony or Sammy than a brand new iPhone replica.

I have to disagree with Victor on this one. The whole point of the "sensible" decisions behind the Oneplus is the reason it is a sensible price.
Sure, it still seems to be priced a bit cheapercl than a flagship like a sim free Galaxy S8 - £500 for the 8GB RAM model vs over £600 for the S8, but what extra are we getting for the money?
It appears some of the sensible aspects have been dicarded in this case which makes both the spec and price less appealing.
Why choose 8GB ram when the Oneplus 3T barely breaks a sweat with 6GB (and even my Oneplus 3 is seldom challenged)? I'd ratner have a better loudspeaker or even an extra one! The dual camera appears to have been provided just to maintain the moniker of flagship and the design has barely changed. Add in their questionable updates lifespan and the case for the Oneplus 5 becomes questionable.
Is the brand really evolving or just taking advantage of a bigger reputation and wider user base? Apple can blag higher prices and less hardware with their supposedly superior user experience, snob value and sheep-like customers (not to mention the less tech savvy who are tacitly locked in through Apple's closed ecosystem that makes migration to elsewhere deliberately difficult.
Oneplus do not have such luxuries and if I were to upgrade my Oneplus 3 today, I'd buy the 3T if I could get hold of one.

oneplus was great. now it is just like most other china phones: "iphone clone" . I dont trust this brand anymore, especially after cheating benchmark score.

Oppo = Vivo = OnePlus = iPhone clones = CopyCats

Disappointed with the new handset especially much hyped 2 camera setup. Price has increased significantly but offering is not much better than predecessor except Processor upgrade. Company shld do something abt its camera hardware.

I quite liked what Parad was saying, especially the part with DxO mark. In fact I was wondering about the same thing. After all quite some leaks suggested that OnePlus was working with DxO mark to improve the 5's camera performance

Well done Peter, very smart thoughts. Nice to see someone who survived that hype blast without any damage and doesn't feel that strange-trendy obligation to OP fans to say what they want to hear. That is very brave Peter and for that I salute you. Now lets see what Axon, Nokia and V30 will bring to the table and it can't come soon enough. Cheers

Flagship killer in flagship's price. I agree with negative opinions - this phone is a iP7+ copycat with limited features. No water resistance, no sd-card, no hi-res audio, no new display, cheating with benchmarks, cheating with photo. Mediocre phone.
