The camera is supposed to be light years ahead of the pack, considering the stack difference in picture quality between there digital cams and mobile cams. Probably doing it intentionally as you said. Or might be on closed-door contract to slow down there mobile camera growth rate. Who knows.
Still, the xperias are still great performers in cam.

Yes, great zippy and sexy build of Amdroid, waterproofing, stereo speakers and pleasing desigm, but camera is the thing most people rely on because they no longer carry a.compact camera with them. Even thr XZ Premium still has.seperate 4K mode. Apple, LG and Samsung massively out do Sony on the camera.UX and IQ front. Me thinks.this is intentional to please the companies Sony sell their sensors to.
Pity, I love Sony industrial design.

LG, make the V30 affordable and better than the Note8!And please: Let all people unlock their bootloader and don't make differences like you did in the past. That would be the success of the device. But I highly doubt, this will ever happen.

Oh Samsung, Samsung , Samsung... You give us features that were first released *last* year from a midrange phone and think to price it for 1000 euros because it's new(s) to you?
And to think Note 3 had 3 GB of RAM half a year before anyone else (and filled to the brim with features). What a gigantic step back. Now it's an one year old feature in a mostly featureless phone (given the circumstances) and you price it as if it was the once tion of fire?
Oh Samsung , Samsung, Samsung. You think too much of yourself. From dirt you started, to dirt you'd return if you change nothing else...

How about a 4k screen, how about the most advanced camera in a mobile phone with an outstanding 960 fps slow-mo and incredible night shots on tripods, how about the hard-to-find and rare front firing dual stereo speakers, how about the fastest phone on the planet as per real life usage (check youtube comparisons) e.t.c.
The only set back sony has, in my opinion, is the outdated design (still classy and unique though). Sony deserve more respect than they get these days.

Well, €1000 is €1000 (999€), I mean it's definitely not cheap (hopefully it will be slightly cheaper), but even more, is that at least it will include the best of the best specs of 2017. Probably a bit better than those mentioned, I mean as qualitative & quantitative as well.

So you pay $100 more than the S8+, and all you get is a stylus? At the trade-off of a much smaller battery? Did I mention how the S8+ is already more expensive than most laptops?

This would be too much for such a phone. But we don't have to care, 2 months later it will cost below €600 and until christmas, it will only be half the launch price.
