Smart Keyboard is a complementary input method for the touch screen. Secondly, Apple Pencil offers an extreme precision for productivity like handwriting and drawing. You don't need the Pencil to navigate through the OS because the buttons are big enough for fingers. It aids productivity. These two are complementary to the touch.

On the other side, having a mouse support on iOS doesn't have any purpose other than navigation, which is already the purpose of the touch screen. Mouse wouldn't be complementary device for the touch screen. If you're using one, then it would do the job that the other one could do. That's my point.

Smart Keyboard, and the pencil. Both are not touch. Adding mouse will not break it. They are just stubborn.

Clearly need of a mouse interface that would avoid hands traversing all directions across the device is evident in this video. Though Pen device is useful for editing but simple capture, and share, dragging actions, moving across windows using a mouse or trackpad implementation would be less abtrusive.

Wow.. what a pro feature!! Tons of Manhours and money into a screenshot feature... even showing it off like a PRO in the wwdc keynote event.

Good job Apple.. always go for your dumb consumers first.. pro users last. And btw.. it only make your UI more buggy and non user friendly. Becareful! You might also lose your dumb consumers as well.
