Phone manufacturers don't realize that the typical Android user would never ever utilize the processor to its full capacity as all the user does is watch you tube, browse the internet and Facebook, make calls and text and play candy crush. Battery life matters more to the experience than the speed advantage of a top-of-the line processor paired with mediocre (

Why is everyone surprised that the Oneplus won? It's bloatware free, has a build of Android that's close to stock, 8 Gigs of high speed LP-DDR4X RAM, UFS 2.1 and a sensible resolution. it's literally one of the best phones out now spec-wise an speed-wise.

Dave Granger, 25 Jun 2017Apparently they cheated, it was on Linus Tech Tips. That was for benchmarking not for multi-tasking as shown here...

Guys, One Plus is faking benchmarks. They have a software which runs CPU off its rails when it detects a benchmark software running....

These three are all flagship phones that lack substance. Android manufacturers value benchmarks so much that they cheat them just so they can outperform one another. I'd rather have a midranger sporting a snapdragon 652\660 that has a bigger screen (6" or larger), a superb battery life, (4000 mAh or higher), an fm radio, slimport/mhl/display out support and ir blaster for half the price of these silly flagships that are worthless once you're out of data and out of battery.

AnonD-466128, 25 Jun 2017Whats the point? Isnt the OP5 cheating benchmarks anyways? There you go. Finally an ignorant show himself. Do you understand the difference between benchmark and speed test? Benchmark plays with numbers. Speed test is real life usage you cannot cheat. How the hell Oneplus cheat by making it phone faster? Lol. If there a cheat code to make phone faster I want it too.

It's a RAM size oriented benchmark. Even a somewhat slower phone with more RAM would win this one. That said, with time Android will populate your RAM with apps you don't necessarily use and still kill the huge games etc. It was the same when phones went from 1GB to 3GB of Ram. That said, the OP5 is a capable phone no doubt, it shares almost the fastest chipset with a few other phones, aside from the Exynos in the GS8. It is just expensive and frankly I would be a little bit ashamed of having a phone that looks so much like an iPhone. I wish it had a single better camera rather than two mediocre ones too.

RaghavaZ, 25 Jun 2017Lol. Who said it's not? Just compared the phones in OP5's price range. S8 and U11 are neither in Oneplus 5's price range for the matter, but if you compare it to MI6, G6 or P10 , 5 is better

Not fair compare speed test op5 8 gigs with phone only with 4 or 6 gigs of ram. Don't forget, compare op5, htc u11, s8+ and mi6 with all the same 6 gigs of ram. Let see what happen next!

Meh, use 6 GB version of HTC U11, OnePlus cheat in benchmark, despite HTC U11 beats OP 5 in benchmark mark, all right I don't care about benchmarks, but you should use 6 GB version of U11.

Talk about comparing apples to oranges.
Any any any meaningful comparison should compare LIKE with LIKE (that good old concept 'EVERY THING ELSE BEING EQUAL' - remember that one !? ).
Now there are 6 GB RAM versions of the S8 and U11 available in certain markets (no 8 GB RAM versions of these devices available anytime) and there is 6 GB RAM version of the OnePlus 5.
A truly meaningful comparison should be between the 6 GB RAM versions of the three devices in question,ok.
