I have been on the fence about getting an S8 with the Qualcomm system on chip. I am glad that this article surfaced, because I don't particularly like the S8's dimensions. A while back I read about the S8 Active, with a smaller viewing area and 1080 P display. Hopefully, it'll come out soon for my carrier, clad with a smoother Samsung operating system, potentially for less money as well.

Standard issue of lagging.
That is why I don't prefer SAMSUNG with it UI, be it premium or mid range device.
I use SAMSUNG S4 with custom ROM as of now. Planning to install Windows 10.

Nothing changed. My S8+ with SD835 is still laggy af with same user downloaded apps as my smooth xiaomi mi note 2 with SD821.

Samsung phones always lagged.
.
My S4 is still laggy.
.
And i see lag problem didnt change years later with S8 .
.
I am not even counting missing updates for phones or very lat updates.
.
S4 will be my last Samsung phone. I am 100% sure.

If u don't like the 'lag' - get another device.
Fair play to GSMA for mentioning re-purposing that Bixby button.

Pick one and enjoy! To be serious, I don't understand how smartphone which costs around 700 euro can lag... It should work like stock android. They already made it much better but it looks like there's much to be done.

i am using s8 plus exynos version and the ui is jittery sometimes, specially scrolling through pages in browers and apps, i have a budget phone redmi note 3 which is still smooth , I will get rid of s8 if it is not fixed , also bixby and fingerprint error are forcing me to revert to redmi note 3 as primary device until something like lg g6 (with snapdragon 835) or pixel 2 are released.
