Each has their own benefits. Sony 4K display is better in resolution and Samsung AMOLED is better at contrast. PhoneArena ranked the XZP with slightly better battery life in their test with 8h 15 min vs the S8+ getting 8 hours. Damir Franc in his testing found running the phone in 4K mode doesn't use a lot more battery throughout the system but only affects battery life mostly in games, also the screen only uses 30% more power than a 1080p LTPS screen due to higher circuit density. GSMArena measures 3G talk time which is not a proper battery benchmark but PhoneArena's test is much more comprehensive as it runs a series of apps from scripts. GSMArena said in their comparison test against the S8 and G6 in camera the manual mode blows the S8 and G6 away in both daylight and low light. In auto mode however, it loses to the S8. I hate to agree with you on the other things though. Sony should shift to bezeless screens and they are late on AMOLED but they won't buy AMOLED panels from Samsung. They are gonna make their own OLED panels through a joint partnership with Panasonic called JOLED who is also partnered with JDI (Japan Display Inc.) and JDI has a much more superior AMOLED technology to Samsung right now, only problem is production factory won't be done construction until early 2018 but Sony is switching to superior bezeless AMOLED panels next year. So you are partially right with your claims but Sony is changing things and they will catch up to and possibly beat Samsung soon if they make the right moves.

You get dual front facing stereo speakers, ... moreStop talking nonsense, if you read GSM Arena you know, what s8 has best battery life from all this year's flagship with endurance rating 84h comparing with Xperia xz 72h. 4k screen is a gimmick and can't match s8 amoled screen, to be precise no one can and camera overall definitely not better than S8 by comparison shoot out it overshadowed Xperia xz and LG g6, only HTC u11 gave a run for its money, plus those huge bezeles doesn't help ether. In overall Xperia xz it is decent other but definitely not on par with S8

From XDA: Someone here would be able to read the Android Sourcecode, they would know why the Z3 and other msm8974 devices are no longer officially supported.
With 7.0.0, all msm8974 code was removed from AOSP. After all, what you expect is that Sony is supporting a no longer AOSP supported chipset. At what point is that a fair assumption?
Of cause its sad to hear that the Z3 got the N Previews and now is no longer supported, but guess why there was no Preview 4 or 5 either? Probably that was around the time when Google gave the 8974 chipset the boot.
After all, the article is not really well researched in my eyes, and written like its Sonys fault that the 8974 platform is no longer supported. Of cause up to some point it is. But there is also a greater matter, which is not in the hands of Sony at all."
Could you stop misleading people, we can google to find the reason that's Z 2 Z3 can't gets to Nougat update, but marshmallow is still nice, no crash no lag no glitches and it's fast.
