At least Sailfish accepts .apk files.
Is not technically Android, but it can be used as Android.
Good old Nokia OS.
MeeGo was so nice back then.

According to the Wikipedia, Sailfish is:
-Strong multitasking (one of the most important advantage of the OS and declared to be the best one at market)
    -Strong privacy and personalization features
Base on this two reason I have positive mindsets with this move.

Can't stop laughing at some of the comments. Are some people really so deluded?

This thing can easily blow other OS away (iOS, Android, Windows, Tizen, etc.) given how much Sony does with software optimization of an OS that they don't even have the full control of.

Ranking from the best software manufacturers:
        1 - Sony
        2 - Apple
        3 - Google
        4 - Windows
        5 - Samsung

Nah Sony can't even get their act together for their camera menus. I don't have confidence in any of their softwares.

Great! Now I am thinking about getting Xperia instead of Samsung A3!

Android keeps reminding me of Windows - things going on under the hood and no easy way to figure out what it is... then there is a point when things are failing and freezing and the only way is to reinstall... Simply Android is super user friendly... like windows. And that alienates me. I need common FOSS apps in the system. I don't like ad-sponsored TOPs and sh#t like that.

This can't get here soon enough! I would actually say why would anyone use android or ios instead of sailfish... unless you have total disregard for your privacy... etc.
