With Sprint, Best Buy offered it for $5 per month for 24 months. That's only $120 + service fees. But if you paid that $120, you wouldn't need to be with their service anymore. I basically used Sprint for two months but was able to jump ship three days later after paying off the difference. I also got a $200 32gb iPhone SE AT&T GoPhone at Best Buy without being stuck with AT&T.
The US truly is the best when it comes to phone prices. I got my S7 edge by trading in a $120 G5 from Sprint. I got a free Gear VR and a $528 rebate card two months later for it. I used the rebate card to pay for the V20 instead. Back in the Philippines, I was stuck using mostly midrangers or entry phonesp. In a span of three months (Feb-May) , I got five top 2016 phones. Just look through Slick Deals.

I'd rather pay more for the phone and less for service.

It's one of my favorite phones but mine does suffer from image retention since I use a gray background on my silver G5 and I wish I could adjust the MP resolution lower. Each photo is 7.5mb. Only my V20 might be better than it as it has longer battery life, ability to adjust MP lower (now at 2.5mb per pic), default FM radio app, and much nicer screen with no image retention. V20 is just too bulky and tall and weaker external speaker.
Neither phones bootlooped on me so far.

g4 / g5 sensor in my opinion is better than g6they wentfor tiny 1/3 rather than 1/2.6 or bigger on it don't know why.

You can buy a mint condition Sprint LG G5 for about $140 on eBay and use an app from XDA Developer to temporarily unlock the phone between each factory reset.
