I reserved a phone myself, I desperately need a new phone, one with a great camera, good battery life, good specs, and a smaller form factor that wasnt a giant brick. Essential fit the bill. Plus i like different than the norm products. I have a feeling we will see a new OS with Andy Ruben eventually. I hope Essential can get this sorted out! A simple email to all of us that reserved this phone would absolutely help things and ease the doubt lurking.
Hopefully they're fixing that terrible camera quality (is you've seen that sample posted a while back)

Not another Android scam. There are so many scam Android phones that never materializes or finally shipped a year late
AnonD-683536, 10 Jul 2017I reserved a phone. No word at all from Essential. Apple and Samsung can get away with this ... moreWhat's more troubling is that dbrand has not received a model nor have the various reviewers recieved test units. This may indicate that Essential is nowhere close to shipping.
If they now say they will ship un 2 weeks, how can you believe it?
I reserved a phone. No word at all from Essential. Apple and Samsung can get away with this kind of thing, but it's a poor start for a company trying to earn a reputation. The delay is no big deal. The silence about it is.
Is this how customer support will respond to the invariable issues facing their brand new phone?
There were no preorders anyway. It was just a reservation, without any payment at all.

People are tired of Pledging for devices without adequate support. These ideas were kind of kool in 2008-2013 but now this is becoming too much of pain with missed targets, not adequate after sales support etc...Also, these things are not cheap as well. Too much to risk
Well, so let's hope that it will be available sooner rather than later.
I'm sure those who have pre-ordered have dully been informed of the delay. The company won't risk purchase cancellations arising from such a small glitch that can simply be communicated to customers.
