I was used Sony Xperia Z3 almost in 4 years. but last year I got problem with that the Touch Screen and Sony Service at Jakarta take to repair over 1 month after that at recently the mobile phone often in Hang and heat, Sony Technology it's absolutely excellent, but we are customers need after sales service..

Xperia XZ Premium has the best designs!
The top and the bottom of the phone is aluminum with plating diamond cut is made for extra sturdy and premium designs.
The side bezel middle of thephone is high-end TPU to absorb drop impact for it top and and bottom, plus have the best antenna and connection reception. It plating with chrome to made the whole phone unified.
The front and the back of the phone is Gorilla Glass 5, it is cover the front and back camera to protect from scratch, and it is extremely gorgeous and sturdy!

For your kind of information, Sony uses nylon (or some of you called it plastic) as antenna / signal receiver using their own style not iphone-like antenna lines. Is it bad? No! That is good as proven how fast my XZP browser speed is, plus it absorbs more impact when falling better than plastic. It is called smart,detail,premium and practical design, this idea is more expensive to design and apply as it is done precisely than just using the same boring design on the market.
Note that it doesn't crack or bend and that is more important regardless what material a phone is using, cause what you called aluminium or metal doesn't always stand for its name. Proofs? Watch wafer aluminium phones on the same JRE channel.
The last, I agree that Sony needs to shrink the bezels without sacrificing the stereo speakers, tiny sensors or even compromising the durability. Until then I am fine with what XZP has given me.

Gsm arena mentioned that the sides are made from plastic but never mentioned that top and bottom are made from metal as well as the volume button as well as the camera button a button that actually made sense all made from metal 😑
