I lost respect for Xiaomi on this one, they're trying to emulate BBK so much with their distribution network and designs. Then again they copied others too so lol w/e.

In asia, iphone identic with small phone. Which is not good. Because asian loves big phone. 5.5" is considered small. 6" considered normal. And 6.4" considered halfway large.
So, in asia, only a couple percentage want iphone. Mostly, those who follow fashion, and not into gadget. Thus considered not-smart user.

They have a lean supply chain management and small product portfolio and because of that they are able to give what is required for masses, sell in huge numbers and still able to get margins from the devices. Introducing new series will disrupt their existing business model.
