It doesnt matter android will overtake. Most of the apps are not very good. Just because they will have more doesnt mean they will be better...

most r cheap quality 2d games, and the good ones are apps of the apple appstore. such as angrybirds

8 out of iOS Apps are quality apps that work across all iOS devices except for some games that require more power hardware

9.5 out of 10 Android apps are junk.

Quantity is not an excuse for quality.

Apple are doing right, focusing more on quality of a single app rather than junk like google is desperately trying to cumulate.

and cause of fragmentation half the apps dont even work on all androids.

what is 1 person going to do with 300,000 apps? 1 person is only going to use prob 1000 so the whole we have more apps is useless

Numbers are not so important, those apps have to be made with respect to quality and content. iOS apps are much more attractive and usable.

Quantity is not quality. I have used both App Store and Android Market with my former iPhone and HTC Android. Both these App Shops have maybe less then 1% actually worth paying for. The rest are like 100,000 Fart apps and 200,00 half working fake description apps made by 9 year old, for other 9 year olds, specially Applse App Store.

None of these two stores comes even close to the quality on Windows Phone 7 Marketplace. WP7 Market might 20 times less apps than the others, but the apps are 20 times better, with multiple submenus and every single one do exactly what they say.

First i was disapointed that Windows where so harsh in rejecting developers that are not so good or have mediocre track record. But now i am more than happy that not just any developer is allowed to make apps for WP7. 99% of the apps for Windows Phone 7 looks very professional and innovative.

Nobody uses even 50 apps, let alone 400,000. So i would rather have quality over quantity. And in quality off apps, WP7 Marketplace kicks the living daylights out of both App Store and Android Market.
