how about our HTC DESIRE original?when it will be updated to gingerbread:(
is the Desire ever going to get an update???? or they have cancelled the gingerbread update for Desire
Better late than never...
the update might be late for some which is understandable, but for users who actually hold on to their phones for a year, year and a half or more.. waiting till end of june is not bad. Agreed, by june the next android OS will already have been announced/released but by then runnig the second most recent OS (gingerbread)on a phone thats not even year old is not bad at all. Actually its pretty darn GOOD. The phone was released in Nov 2010 and 7 month down the road it will be running gingerbread. For people who plan on getting most out of their money, this is nothing but good news.
Also, think of it from the manufacturers perspective who assume people will actually hold on to their phone for year or more..

I went to the link you posted and not everyone gets the update. I guess some carriers are still not done putting their crap on the update, right? That's Android for you folks!

Maybe if you kept up to date you would see the update for desire hd is already out. HTC have the most reliable update policy out of all the android phones.
well,I'm already using ginger on my DZ.its T-Mobile leaked rom and its awesome.
Great! Thank you very much, HTC. By the way, you suck. Now i regret the day when i bought my Desire Z and i can't wait to get the new Samsung Galaxy S2.
Thats too late.. but i am going to wait anyway
[deleted post]How about never? This is why I hate Android, you won't get any updates and tge update comes many months later after Google releases it. It's rediculous. Sad but it's true.
HTC have locked the phone so it very hard to root it now and most of us users do not have Gingerbread already on our Z. End of june is too late for me, especially with the fatal problems with ÅÄÖÆØ
My new Galaxy S2 will be in my hands within 2 weeks, and then Z will be dumped in the garbage.
seriously? wtf? by the end of june,,, crap
and what about HTC Desire HD???????
I'm thinking about replacing my Galaxy S with this. It is relatively cheap and it features a QWERTY keyboard. The question I have though is how sturdy is the Z-hinge? Is it as fragile as some people proclaim it is and does it stand the test of time?
What about the original Desire? They said they would update that too...
what about HTC Desire? Same screen size as Desire Z...
Hopefully soon for Desire as will change to Sony Arc if not soon
good for htc fans.. gettin updates on time.. unlike SE or motorola..
btw m firstt again.. :P
