Anonymous, 15 Jul 2017In 18months the same performance (5% better is ETH close to that). That's worse than being the... moreYup... Because each generation of cpu us supposed to have ungodly advances every single time. It's law. No id's and's, or buts....
And gpu doesn't matter because you say so... That's logical... And 30% is nothing.
As well as power efficiency is nothing. Especially adding all four parts together.. the fact that multi core improved, gpu improved a lot, it can do all of this for longer periods of time with less throttle, and do it all with less power draw.

And three Qualcomm chip might even finally have decent audio. As well as many other improvements as features in other areas. Because these chips are more than just a gpu and gpu....

But those two things didn't gain enough boost for your liking so that translates into meaning that there was zero improvement.
And sadly it's your type that makes up most of the world. Spoiled and ungrateful

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2017How is it the same???? The cpu raw power is about the same in single core. That its. Multi is... moreIn 18months the same performance (5% better is ETH close to that). That's worse than being the same, that's Intel style going back.

GPU doesn't matter, but even that is just 30% more.

Power efficiency doesn't matter, battery will be small, so looks S8 it willl have less battery than S7.

So after 18months same performance , less battery. Genious!

And then they wonder why they are steadily losing their pole position.

Things that need effort to conquer, also need effort to maintain.

Samsung is low effort these days, they try to sell through gimmicks (but thankfully they don't).

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2017So Note 8 would basically have the same horsepower as a phone release 18 months before it? (S7... moreYou got some details mixed up. The Note 8 will be using the Exynos 8895, not the 8890. The Exynos 8890 was Samsung's alternative to the Snapdragon 820, while the 8895 is much newer, and serves as their alternative to the Snapdragon 835.

The cpu raw power is about the same in single core. That its. Multi is only marginally improved but is.
The rest takes off. Power efficiency and sustained performace has improved. And gpu performace has improved quite a bit.

It's amazing how much can happen in 12 months.

Remember 12 months ago when Samsung were trying to recover from the Note 7 battery issues?

It's amazing how the past has essentially been forgotten and Samsung have come out of it in the best position possible. Very few companies could have pulled that off.

tuffy33, 14 Jul 2017if there is one thing ONLY one you can change/add to the upcoming note 8, what it'll be? me... moreSamsung S5 with removable battery AND water protection.
HTC Legend with removable battery AND metal unibody.

It can be done and has been done.

The only reason for dismissing removable battery is Apple's influence

@#$%$ Apple
