Well, it's not so easy to say which version is the truth (because it could be a strategy, etc.). But I think that most probably is somewhere between the 2 versions, or better. That the sales of the S8 duo is really slightly and gradually slowing down, but on the other hand, compared, it is still selling more (than the previous models).

Nobody needs a such a tall phone, with no content to fit it's display. It's also darn impossible to operate with one hand, even for don't basic stuff, like pulling the status bar down.....

Wouldn't be surprised if either the s7 or s8 sold better. Doesn't matter.
People are buying lesa flagships because midrange phones are becoming good enough.
I certainly won't be buying any Samsung flagship with retarded aspect ratios and curved screens. If they don't change then the flat S7 will be my last Samsung flagship. If they start messing with their midrange phones...Nokoa here I come.
