Windows crap was the most embarrassing thing Microsoft ever did since taking over NOKIA and killing MAEMO & MEEGO which according to my opinion there was a bit of light for them and maybe will stand against Android with a huge company support.
But no They killed Meego & Maemo which by far more stable less or no lagging OS and alot of users who owns them almost never complained.
Jolla came from the dark side of the moon to enlight us were as Windows was trying to show some muscles but without any result.
Few people used this Crap OS. Some of them expressed there satisfaction about using it and some compalined. Well No Support to OS as it us should be and no support for APPS like other OS.
Nokia did not embrace Sailfish OS which is a promising gold mind kicking ass OS but rather went to Android.
Thanks Microsoft for Killing Nokia and hope it will be revived again..

AnonD-463498, 19 Jul 2017Windows phone does the lag.
Lag in Android was started by jealous dual core windows phone f... moreI've owned both WP and Android.
On the same hardware, Android lags behind the Windows... (W10m doesn't count).
WP need twice less resources to operate...
Windows phone does the lag.
Lag in Android was started by jealous dual core windows phone fans years ago.
Lag has been a lie in since 4.2 for Android
Tom....., 18 Jul 2017I'm glad that Sony never face this kind of fate and will never be faced. Other than Sony's Japanese Insurance branch, it too is on shaky ground , not just Microsoft Windows Phones and/or MS consumer electronics.
Thought it died yrs ago
sohail shafayat, 18 Jul 2017most of the people are not smart, smarter people still use WP/Windows Mobile 10So when people purchase something other than WP because it cannot run the applications they use on a regular basis they are stupid? That's what you just said, by implication, for over 90% of the mobile market in the world. Only idiots buy a phone that cannot run the apps. they wish to use and most likely that has no upgrade path either. It does sound rather arrogant and condescending too, of course.
AnonD-632062, 18 Jul 2017What a huge drop into the abyss for Windows Mobile!
BTW I wonder where Sony, LG & HTC wo... moreIt's hard to know because none of them are releasing figures, and the best we have are estimates built upon estimates.
But from what I can find out there are roughly;
HTC: (min) 8 Million - 40 Million (max)
SONY: (min) 12 Million - 41 Million (max)
LG: (min) 14 Million - 75 Million (max)
Let's generalise this to a conservative;
HTC ~15 million units sold in the past 12 months
SONY ~20 million units sold in the past 12 months
LG ~45 million units sold in the past 12 months
And there are around 1.5 Billion total phone units sold each year.
Which brings their market share to:
...no wonder they don't release figures, its embarrassing.
So even the "pointless" HTC market share alone is higher than the Windows Phone ecosystem. I guess many of us were correct to call WP's death from years ago.
ImJoaquinTheDog, 18 Jul 2017No, there's more Windows Phone devices than Gingerbread. You're not taking 0.7% of the total d... moreYou're not wrong... its just that wasn't my comment, GSMArena's system seems to crop my comment. I tried twice already, here's my third attempt to comment.
I tried to say:
Entire Windows Phone Ecosystem ~0.1%
Old iOS devices ~2.0%
Newer iOS 10 iPhones ~13.0%
Old Android 1.5 - 4.3.1 ~8.1%
Newer Android 4.4 - 6.0.1 ~67.0%
Cutting Edge Android 7.0 - 7.1.2 ~9.8%
TOTAL = 100%
So that the ENTIRE ecosystem of Windows Phone is smaller than the niche iPhone demography, or the niche extremely old Android demography, or the niche Nexus/Pixel demography. This is a bad thing, we needed Microsoft to provide an alternative. Competition is good for us.
Anonymous, 18 Jul 2017What?! There are windows phones?Yes, you've forgot the HP phone and their CEO explaining the astronomical price... as being a professional phone...
Windows is almost dead. Apple Its your turn. Steve Jobs died. Time to die Apple.
And that's entirely Microsoft's fault...
No one else is to blame...
What?! There are windows phones?
"0.7% of 85% of total the devices, which is about 0.08% of the total devices" - 0,7% of 85% gives 0.595%, actually
[deleted post]No, there's more Windows Phone devices than Gingerbread. You're not taking 0.7% of the total devices on the market, you're taking 0.7% of 85% of total the devices, which is about 0.08% of the total devices, actually
Anonymous, 18 Jul 2017That's what we have been hearing for the last 10 years + and all of we have actually seen is M... moremost of the people are not smart, smarter people still use WP/Windows Mobile 10
What a huge drop into the abyss for Windows Mobile!
BTW I wonder where Sony, LG & HTC would feature in the smartphone manufacturer's chart......
When Lumia 520 Launched The Percentage Increased Of Windows Phone Market........... First Microsoft Company Said All Lumia Windows 8 Models Will Get Windows 10 Then Suddenly Nadela Announce No Offical Updates For Lumia 520, 540, 920, 930 Etc........ The Apple Give 4 Years Update To Every Model Of I Phone N Microsoft Showing Arrogant Way Like King ...... Future Is About Tablets N Smart Phones N Microsoft Want To Run Away From Smart Phone Market??????? If Microsoft Not Learn Then The One Day Will Come Peoples Will Throw Laptops N Everyone Will Come Under Google.... Then Microsoft Will Realize Y They Miss Golden Chance Of Windows Phone After Lumia 520 Success :)
Anonymous, 18 Jul 2017Continuum ft great SurfacePhone is last hope! So Mr.Nedella hurry up.... Common man do someth... moreContinuum won't do anything for them without app. support and that has always been the Achilles heel of WP. I would like to see it but given how many times I have heard this over the last 10 years or so I have great difficulty believing it now I'm afraid.
Why so sad? Rejoice, Windows Phone is dead!
