Interesting developments... Can't wait. Like really Nokia, CANNOT WAIT
in real life usage, i cant say that my friends htc dhd is faster, even though its faster on paper...
but his battery lasts one day, mine two
n8 is more than the sum of its parts and you cant just look at specs. you wouldn buy a car or a house by reading specs and looking pictures, would you?
nokiaman, 11 May 2011Really? No really why is it when there is any news on Nokia all you haters have something to s... moreThat's right...
With android deices you need 2 o 3 spare batteries, NO GOOD if you are outdoors like me, I want ro rely on a phone with an stable OS with a good battery life and resistant.
Nokia knows their own business, and, they don't wanna be a sheep in Android's path, thats respetable for a companie,
Is like if BMW trie to get along with Chevrolet to build "cheapers" BMW's just beacuse is cheap get parts NO WAY....Nokia is far from Android, this desicion have a cost, but maybe they see in Microsoft a better future project....let's see, for now, Nokia stills the number 1 company in the world of phones, and the trut hurts!
People attack Nokia because a single reason,...
They are affraid of the rise of Nokia, and besides, Nokia has a good name, good quality products, and excellent reputation...(nothing in common with Motorola, LG, Samsung and others)
Now, Nokia get a great job in their line of production...D a good quality phone...
Maybe android devices have more proc, more graphics and so on...but as a phones stinks, bad sound quality, bad, speaker, bad, mic, bad reception, you name it, they grab companie phones leftovers to make their products, even HTC have too many problems in quality.
For other hand, Nokia Symbian NO NEED a zillion of companies to sold their products, and now Nokia is getting a long with Microsoft lets see the result..
For now Microsoft is buying great companies like Skype and getting stronger this can be a bright future for Nokia and a fresh innovated OS, the real competition is not Symbian is the new MS OS...but Symbian still good for basic daily use....
AnonD-616, 11 May 2011in my opinion symbian is very good os :-) but nokia is so slowly :( because samsung first s60 ... moreEvery good product must be a slower in its development!
This is in cars and O.S case!
optional, 11 May 2011why do people always post hate comments whenever there's news about symbian? why can't you peo... moreThe Truth is, they are scared that Symbian is starting to do exceptionally well and they try to come here and defile the OS to try to sway people from learning the truth about Nokia & Symbian which is, very reliable phones, very durable phones, constantly improving OS and here's the kicker Optional, they don't want people to find out that Symbian is What Android has been modeled after or for the sake of a better word, Copied. Thats why I LOL at them for showing Nokia that they are doing the right thing. Take no offense by them Optional, they're just scared and some just having fun.
AnonD-7466, 11 May 2011Why do allure Android fans come here and bag out nokia. I have an iPhone yet I don't hate symb... moreyes dear i also used nokia n97 it is nice phone but bit slow :-( but camera is even better then iphone 4 in pictures :-) and battery 4 days for music and facebook users :-) nokia need remake n97 with symbian3 or anna with 1ghz single core processor
GEFORCE GPU >>
in my opinion symbian is very good os :-) but nokia is so slowly :( because samsung first s60 symbian OMNIA hd have 256 ram and 600 processor and sony ericsson satio have 256ram 600 processor :-) but nokia first s60 symbian nokia 5800 128ram 484 processor :( :-( >> nokia is slow not symbian >> i hope nokia make symbian3 with 1ghz plus 512 or more ram >> because when we playing games in nokia n8 its take loading 25sc but samsung galaxy s 5sc
why do people always post hate comments whenever there's news about symbian? why can't you people just enjoy your android or ios phones? i have a c7 and this is a great article for me.
AnonD-695, 11 May 2011"The C7 has an outdated 360x640res screen"
Funny thing is that some newer android... more The resolution in high end Nokia phones is indeed LOW. Some android phones do have low HVGA resolution, but thats because they are low end devices. I'm sure there isnt a single android device that costs as much as N8 or E7 with an HVGA resolution.
And ask your bro to update his galaxy s firmware. Free RAM should be around 200 MB out of 330. Large part of the user available memory is temporarily cached for faster access of the data and to reduce load. The unavailable part of the RAM is for the OS and the GPU (which requires more RAM than that of N8's broadcom because SGX is more powerful and has to output much bigger resolution).
So the conclusion is that the less free RAM does not mean that Android is inefficient.
"Add to the fact that symbian^3 UI is hardware accelerated, unlike android"
Unlike android?? Show me the source which says that phones like Galaxy S or Desire does not have a hardware accelerated UI. There is no hardware acceleration in unmodified android until gingerbread, I know that. But in case you dont know android is open sourced. That means manufacturers can modify it to any extent. So what makes you think that manufacturers dont make the UI accelerated by the GPU just like how they added 1080p support or SMP (Symmetric multiprocessing)
to android devices which doesn't natively support them ???
"is one of the best GPU out there for single core processors"
The best GPUs in the market are SGX 543, GeForce GPU, Mali 400, Adreno 220, SGX 540. Broadcom 2727 along with SGX530, SGX 535 (The one in iphone), Adreno 200 etc are pretty mediocre.
well for those who keeps on complaining and comparing symbian to android etc. before you complain. try making your own os first. see if that will work. you guys keep on complaining yet i dont think you can even create the most basic os found on a basic phone. didnt your mama ever tell not to badmouth others?
i would like nokia to continue symbian
just to read the ridiculous comments against it
a lot of people, if not all, seem to copy paste their negative comments
they're all the same, like android phones
boring, plastic, unoptimized...
it looks to me that there are a few people that bash on symbian from different computers all day
what a life to live... and i thank you for the smile you bring on my face with your silly comments
Why do allure Android fans come here and bag out nokia. I have an iPhone yet I don't hate symbian I had a n97 and it was the phones hardware that let the phone down not symbian. If it had more ram and 600 MHz processor it would have been fantastic. Androids aren't as good a people make them out to be they are also outdated yet people don't go there and have a b#### about it . Yeh I love my iPhone but if my n97 was faster I would say it would be a better phone.
Oh, who cares? Give it up, Nokia. You kept sluggish, dated Symbian too long... tried Maemo... back to Symbian3... threats of Windows7. You don't know what to do. Why even bother updating an archaic system? It's still sluggish and obsolete.
Really? No really why is it when there is any news on Nokia all you haters have something to say. I live out in the middle of woop woop in northern Australia own a N8 , HTC desire and HTC Mozart guess what the Nokia shits all over there pretty little interfaces. Free maps GPs that doesn't need internet, camera, fm transmitter, decent battery life, so what if it doesn't have a million apps it does the job for me .
I still love symbian, so I for one am looking forward to this.
hi.......... THis cell is wow..........
Meh. If Nokia started using Android OS I might consider but until then I won't be getting a Nokia because I don't like Symbian.
AnonD-1825, 11 May 2011Do you really think you can convince someone with that?
Symbian phone is slow on paper and ... morewhy would i be convicing anyone? do i get paid? hell no.
im simply pointing out the misconceptions in his post.
if you were to say that s60v5 was slow, then i couldnt agree more. but this is symbian^3 that we are talking here and i have my n8 to prove it
pre-order prices are always skyhigh for nokia phones (0_o dont know why though), but when it hits the market the price will start to drop quite quickly if you ask me
