It is first phone in a world with google AR/VR support and 8gb ram, so definitely unique, to pay a price for that? Well it is up to people, but you cant blame ASUS for trying to make some money from its specialties

I was quite keen to see what price they would enter the UK market with on this phone. I know it's an older processor but it has also been optimised for Tango. There's a pretty funky cooling system too. BUT I followed the link to the pre-order page and it seems that that price is for the 6gb variant, not the 8gb version which is a bust for me. I think they should be selling the top spec version at that price!!!! ;o(

If you are after for the project tango feature into a smartphone, you may consider the Lenovo Phab2 Pro that costs half price of Zenfone AR. Tango is a pretty good feature though.

That pricing is ridiculous for a company more known for mid range laptops here than their phones. Its been priced by a company that doesnt really want to sell them in the UK but if some mug wants to pay it then they will supply.

It costs much more expensive than flagships with SNAPDRAGON 835 even the GALAXY S8, HTC U11, XPERIA XZ PREMIUM and other flagships this year. This phone is powered by just a SNAPDRAGON 821. And it is much more expensive than others with SNAPDRAGON 835. Yeah there is that 8GB RAM, but does it need to be priced so high? Is the RAM so expensive? No! And also before ending my speech plz look properly of what I am saying when I never even say benchmarks, u are the one who is saying about benchmarks lol

You clearly don't know anything about phones other than benchmarks. SoC aside this is up to scratch with every other flagship and even then it has the same SoC as the G6 and isn't exactly a slouch or likely to lag under strain no matter what you throw at it. Benchmarks mean little in real world usage.

Not a chance. AR or not it is not going to sell for that price. Asus aren't well known over here for their phones and this really isn't going to help them. They need to half that RRP.
