its weird how many moons ago you could only buy goldfish bowl screen tv's and everybody longed for the day of a flat screen. That day came and now there making them curved again just the other way. Surley the same has to be said for mobiles a flat screen is more versatile in many ways compared to a curved screen. I have yet to see a good use for the curved screens of the samsungs so the word gimmick comes to mind.
"Samsung why are you making curved screens?" ......"Because we can" thats about the extent of it sorry :(
On a slightly different note i loved curved back of phones they sit in the hand so much better.

There should have been a flat screen version of Samsung S8. I like flat screens best to hold and for purpose of applying screen gaurd too.

Kaushalkirti, 23 Jul 2017Curve and bezzlelss is the future of Mobile. Although 2.5 D is better than Flat. I don't why p... moreProbably bc we want a phone that is solid and we don't need to focus on being careful. Pro covers also fit and protect it better. The lack of bezels also makes everything more squishy and again unable to use pro protection. If the phones come to cost max 100$, the the new gimmicks is ok.

Curved glass is the best for swiping from the side to the middle, to open menus. Just compared my OP3T to my LG G4 and swiping is easier on my 3T than on my G4.

Flat phone screens! Curvy women! I wish the curved screen would die just as fast as 3d screens.

I like Flat screen.. I had Note 5 before and sold it to buy S7 edge when it was launched.. but within 1 month i sold my S7 edge and again Bought Note 5.. and now i am using LG G6 and i really like it... Samsung should launch a Flat s8 model with same bezel-less design.

Curved screen looks great but breaks very easy.
Flat screen is dull looking but sturdy.
Why not meet in the middle? 2.5D glass is the best choice to me.
I bet in a few years we'll be all laughing and using curved screens with gorilla glass advancing every year.

Surficial, 23 Jul 2017I like curved glass, but glass protruding out does make for more fragility, sony's curved side... moreYes but it is because of the 2.5 glass they have on their flagships and not because of them.

Curve and bezzlelss is the future of Mobile. Although 2.5 D is better than Flat. I don't why people want to stick with traditional old technology. But I love innovation.

I like curved glass, but glass protruding out does make for more fragility, sony's curved side glass with a lip top and bottom to protect it is a very good design imo.

Definitely not curved screens.
Flat screens are nice but they're not really that much exciting anymore.
Definitely the 2.5D curved glass, which makes the design more modern and still useful with no bs at the same time.

curved screen look cool but dont have any real/useful function, most of it are just fancy addons that you dont really use(eg, notifications, music player) and for most of time you still pick phone and use it properly.

I prefer curved glass, you have all needed space for screen, but it give you that nice smooth feel when you swipe your finger from edge of the screen.
