soundmaster, perhaps you've missed the N91, it sounds better than any WalkMan because it has got a dedicated audio chip. And guess, what, the 5700 has also got one...

SE fans, are sooo jealous again!!!! they come here just to bash & say s2pid & nonsense things about this "walkman killer". this phone hasn't come out yet.. nobody knows how this phone would work & sound like.. but according to the article here in gsmarena this phone has "dedicated audio chip" with 35 MB of user memory, 64 MB SDRAM, 128 MB ROM, ARM 11, 369 MHz CPU and powered by the "latest" Symbian OS 9.2 with the S60 3rd edition user interface. so it means to say, this phone's gonna kick all SE walkman's butttt!!! ;P

man, nothing won even come close to the market of se walkman phones, believe it or not walkman phones already beat the record even breaking ipods popularity....try to hear both of the music phones of nokia and se...nokia sounds like a piece of thin can..even though if compared to se without using the great megabass trademark......poor nokia

Whatever anyone might say, this phone is all in all technically more advanced than any WalkMan up to date. And thanks to the DSP it will most likely even sound better. That's what I call a real music phone...

every1 has their own personal perference. PPL need to stop bashing nokia for the making the effort. I would take a nokia instead of an SE any day. My nokiaE50 feel in the toliet bowl and still works... So bac off nokia's bac... do u think a SE would survive a dunk in the bowl?

there is commercials every where about the SE stereo bluetooth headphones the HBH-DS970 and it have a LCD display with remote control and it has been in market for at least 6 months now so nothing great about nokia marketing nothing beats SE stratgies and after all they need no advertising Ericsson bluetooth techs 'cause they're already the worlds leader in this technology

every walkman provided with a 3.5mm jack and a USB cable so nothing gonna beat walkmans you're just dreaming and you have the right to dream 'cause SE is the worst nightmare that nokia have

It bests SE phones in having a 3.5 headphone jack and standard mini-usb.

The lack of those two items keep me away from the SE walkman line

The w580 is only edge so I think that being smartphone and 3g this 5700 will be an excellent choice

i own a nokia n-gage first generation and use it as a mobile music player.I have yet to find a mobile phone that sounds half as good as my nokia(i've tried the se walkman and it doesn't even compete!)...if the 5700 has the same dna i will buy it for sure..

It is a desperate attempt to compete with SE W 580.
As per looks, camera & music Quality goes SE W580 will lead the race.Main advantage for N 5700 is the latest Symbian OS 9.2 with the S60 3rd edition user interface.

well, it certainly is an excellent phone but I pretty much doubt that Sony ericsson is gonna sit around and do nothing, they'll fight back...

I always get amused by people who bash other models. If Nokia/SE/Motorola/Samsung is great in an area just say it. Apples and oranges are both fruits but are not the same. A briton and a Malawian are both humans but are not the same. Each company has its great attributes and weaknesses. Noone is forced to buy a phone so why do people become missionaries preaching the gospel of a brand in ways that disrespect other brands?

Personally I love Nokias for their great user interface and friendliness and innovations, but I know that I wouldnt mind having say a SamsungD900 or a SE M500.

As regards the 5700 hundred, technically its marvelous but the way its coloured and built makes it look like a toy or a phone for teenagers. I hope Nokia will make it more like how the 3250 looks

Nokia 5700 really rocks in music coz it uses Symbian Version 9.2 featurepack1.This version of symbian is mainly developed 2 give encanced music performance!!

It could be the worlds best music mobile(Even sony ericsson mobiles cant give such performance).
