I'll just have to wait for the official update. Btw, if I use the Kies, will it be the same if I bring the tab to an authorized service center? Thanks for the help! :D

i cant even update to 2.2.1 froyo...im afraid that this update will not come to my phone also im stuck with 2.2 :(

pls help... i have the old i9000 SGS from ORANGE it has 2.2 froyo and open line but when i try to update my software tru KIES it said "this software can't be update" is this mean i cant get any update from this phone? im loosing hope already,i don't want to flash it by my self because it void my warranty and im not confident doing it...
plssss... help.. i want this gingerbread update....

At last!!! And as I just bought the Galaxy TAB last sunday, this will be a welcome treat for me as not even the service centers here in the Philippines can say if and when the update will arrive here...

AnonD-427, 16 May 2011How? :D Is it in the Kies? Or a different software? Sorry still new to Android. :DTitanium Backup is found on the market. Go grab the PRO version and backup all your apps+data. Forget about Kies. Go to XDA, root your device and grab a custom ROM. You'll be a happier camper.

Samsung is a big let down for its customers. Considering that Gingerbread was released back in 2010 on almost identical hardware (Nexus S) built by Samsung, it is now almost 6 months we are waiting for upgrade. Even later than its competitors who started from scratch.
Instead of trying to create dozens of the varieties of the same phone they cannot support they should concentrate on fewer flagship models they can support.
Instead of making IPhone copies, advertisement, they should provide proper press release not some random rumour. Last but not the least people are not buying Galaxy S because of TouchWiz or Samsung nun-functional customisation (many applications still do not work properly on Galaxy S), they buy despite that. We just want Android on decent hardware that is updated quickly.

Updated officially on Kies last week to Gingerbread XWJVH but this had been around for a while! Or was it not official?! on Kies?!
