Don't get me wrong. I also find both phones absurdly expensive and I can't understand why Nokia doesn't at least make a upgrade on the CPU, but these trolls saying nonsense things only to attack Nokia is simply intolerable.
I dont think the pricing will be that high here in my country. All types of phones and tablets are tax free. More or less it wud cost around USD $550-600 for the X7. Not any higher than that.
Im not biased towards any platform, but I'd stick to Nokia (and if they switch from symbian to windows, i'll stick to nokia), because they make the best hardware, most durable phones, and they put pentaband in their phones (it's not in X7, but it's in my N8). I noticed the shitty browser on my N8 improved a lot after some firmware updates. Dual Core power does not necessarily translate into good hardware. I'll stop here, trolls may just want to bash me for siding to nokia, and i have no intention to bash back. Just wasting my time if i do so.
then why not e7 in place oe x7?

Only Android needs 1Ghz CPU and 512Mb of RAM to browse the internet properly, yeah, the default Nokia browser sucks, but Opera Mobile shows that the hardware is capable enough. Also, takes a look how iPhone 3GS browse the internet smoothly with a very similar CPU and RAM, a lot smoother than Optimus 2x, for instance.
There's no problem if you don't like Nokia or Symbian, just don't start to pretend things if you don't know anything about hardware.
Too expensive for a dying platform.
Only 680 mhz cpu makes webbsurfing very slow and the small ram also makes fast websurfing impossible, and it still consume just as much battery as a faster cpu would because it takes much longer to finish each task before it can go back to batteryefficient idle again.
Nokia is trying to make their outdated phones appear as if they were more modern, with better hardware and not just the same old Symbian with its only 360x640. Nokia try to sell more than a year outdated phones as if they were just as good as the latest Androids. Nokia think that a high price will fool the buyers to think that they buy a top of the line smartphone, they sell 2 year old hardware and software for the same price as brand new top phones today.
In my opinion, it's a shame Nokia cannot come with more innovations. I think they could capitalize way more on their image of premium handsets manufacturer...
Maybe they should just hop on the android bandwagon and offer us the ultimate 12MP camera-phone with a gorgeous 3.7'+ ClearBlack AMOLED display, crystal clear sound and a decent 1Ghz+ processor, all wrapped up in a premium chassis with a glorious "N9" written on it ...
Sounds good, doesn't it!? what do you guys think? ;)
i really loved all those years i spent with you Nokia...loving it!!! but time changes...bye bye Symbian...I will be using Android next time!
i prefer xperia arc/neo/pro than those phone.....
LMFAO.... Clove Technology (a well known reseller of smartphones in the UK) are selling the SGS2 for £528 (USD$858). "Seem pricey"??
It's nice of Nokia to stay around. I've used just about any platform out there except RIM (I want to try one soon!)
Last Nokia I've used was E71 and I'd say it was great at the time but OVI never really offered anything. Then I switched to HTC Wildfire just to try Android- I loved it! After a month I missed the physical keypad and so I downgraded to x3-02 --- well, I found out physical keypad does not matter so much as I thought! So I bought Samsung Galaxy i9000. 6 months later I'm still loving this sh!t!
This lineup that they have is good for Nokia's standards but the mobile phone business has come a long way to say that what was once an excellent company (Nokia) now barely competes with other platforms (and handsets for that matter).
I'd say it's time for Nokia to move away from their current strategy and find something new coz it just ain't working! Maybe dump Symbian (ouch) or stop fooling people and start admitting that they are way behind now in terms of overall phone experience.
I'm saying this because I want Nokia to stick around- besides, they are the company who started all this madness! Nokia, you can do better than that!

Nokia themselves have written Symbian's obituary and still they keep on charging fancy figures for their "supposed" Symbian flagships. This is just a stop-gap arrangement to keep their balance sheets healthy, until their real Windows flagships are ready to roll.
And they (Nokia) know that there are still lot of Symbian fanboi's out there who are willing to leave their senses and stake their souls (and hard-earned wealth) on their Symbian “dream” phone...
not even they are having a good processor and still demanding for 400+£
Anonymous, 15 May 2011Nokia give Quality Android give Quantity :)What a simplistic way of thinking, the situation is more complex than that and every single blog is saying that Nokia is doing bad. You said quality, so what do you think about Nokia's purple screen problem
Get used to seeing Symbian devices with lower speed processors. It's because Symbian is so efficient. Remember, Nokia have had years to perfect it with things like dynamic paging and such, unlike Android, which is still new and bloated.
both lapsap doesn't worth that kind of $$..
[deleted post]nothing wrong with Symbian. hate nokia because they use limited hardware (RAM) on Symbian. that the reason why Symbian can't move ahead stupid people on nokia make Symbian lose.
Nokia give Quality Android give Quantity :)
