Why is it that the htc sensastion 4g is only 550 USD, while the sesation in europe is 600 Euro... that a big price difference

Dick at&t still doesnt ... moreThis is the Trick. IF it works on Tmobile now, it will work on AT&T later after the merger is complete because all Customers' phone must be supported after the merger.
And if the merger is not successful, I believe the phone must still have the capabilities to work on the AT&T 3/4G network but that capability will be disabled till the merger is successful. This is because HTC is aware of the current merger and must have made the phone for both Tmobile and AT&T network.
