AnonD-632062, 31 Jul 2017If they could get true lossless 3X zoom, that would be really awesome.I think it's quite obvious that was a combination. I don't think a 3X optical zoom can go that far, usually it's a digital zoom that extend quite a lot at the expense of quality.
It's funny how Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi advertise these optical zooms as if it's the first time ever and as if no one has ever owned a digital camera before. So sad and behind the times. I truly hate marketing and can't stand it. They baby us.
Anyways, Samsung already had a 10x optical zoom (with OIS) smartphone out, which was amazing, apart from how thick it was. 5x zoom would be thinner for our pockets. Meanwhile I'll continue using my Sony RX100 camera.
Hmm...nothing new feature or invention, all the feature that being say in article ,was already has on previous phone, samsung just change the feature name and make some wow caption to make it look good...mehh

Samsung Pay and 3x optical zoom are the only reasons I would want a Note8. I don't care for the design, S-Pen, or laggy skin.
I made a decision to stick to Verizon exclusively over T-Mobile. Verizon is the best network with the best coverage in my area. I tried using AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile and all three would have dead spots since I drive alot. Verizon phones also come UNLOCKED which is a hassle to do with the other networks especially for Sprint (data incompatibility) and T-Mobile (long process).
And guess which Android phones get the iPhone treatment of not getting any carrier bloatware, carrier boot up animation, ringtone, and carrier branding? Google Pixels. My Pixel is unscathed from Verizon like an iPhone would. If you live in the US, are in Android PURIST, want the best network, want updates, want smooth UI, Google Pixels are the only ones to get for the rest of your life the same way many people chose to stay on iOS forever and ever.
Samsung really needs to tell carriers not to add anymore stuff because their own software and customization on Android is already bloated as is. The carrier branding was a start as the S8 lacked the Verizon and AT&T logo. But their boot up animation and bloatware is still there. Typing this from my Pixel and love it. Slightly camera than my LG phones and S7 edge because I don't like HDR+ overprocessing, but best Android software experience, unlocked out of the box, least glitches, and fast to type on.
Verizon + Pixels= win for Android purists in the U.S.
Avoid any other network unless you can't afford Verizon. Avoid any other Android phone unless you love bloatware, slower updates, carrier branding even in a boot up animation, lag, etc.
[deleted post]Its obviously pertaining about Samsung phones only. Jeez people without any common sense.
Well, basically everything seems really smooth. But we'll see in the real life, hopefully it will be the same (if not even better, polished, etc).
