It's Samsung BTW even if this phone look ugly and inconvenient because of the way they place it's fingerprint people still gonna buy it. Recently Samsung start to look like Apple, they force their stupid idea to their loyal customer.
Use the iris scanner. Is very well placed and fast enough (at least on S8/S8+)
I much prefer the horizontal dual lens as seen from LG and Huawei. Samsung Pay and 3x optical zoom are the only reasons I would get the Note8.
Since living in the United States again and trying out different network and phones in a span of a few months, I made the decision to stick to one network and one phone brand, Verizon and Pixel. Knowing Verizon, I expect their bootup animation and bloatware to be there on the Note8. With Pixel, it's unlocked like the rest of their 4G phone and untouched by the carrier like an iPhone would on any US network.
I know people hate the overpricing, ugly design, and lack of features of the Pixels. I get it. Well, I don't like the ugly, laggy skin and lame curved displays either on Samsung. Add the carrier bloat. Add the waiting for the software update. The Pixel is still the fastest and smoothest UI experience I ever experienced on ANY phone which includes iPhones. Since iOS lacks options like 0.5x animations or FAST animation on Nova Launcher, I can't make it feel any faster.
The only thing I can't tolerate with Pixel is the camera is overrated because its dynamic range is poor and it lacks microSD slot. But I use my LG phones as the media players and camera for its wide angle lens anyway, so no big deal. And Pixel can't connect to my MacBook but works fine on Windows. I believe Note8 will be a better phone than the S8/S8+ but Pixel upgrades on Verizon will be my lifetime choice. Many people upgrade to the latest iPhone every couple years and no complaints. That will be the same for me with Google Pixels on Verizon.
Verizon = best US network (albeit expensive)
Pixel = pure Android, no carrier nonsense
Google > Apple, Samsung
gross - curved screens are awful. Also why remove the home button and put the finger print reader in the hardest to reach place... This phone needs to remove the curved glass and put a slim bezel on with a home button.
Like those top/bottom bezels a lot better than the S8! Thin, but existent. Hard pass on the rest of the design features.
So many people complain about the fingerprint scanner, i only use for payments, facial recognition for unlock works a dream by the way
AnonD-548804, 01 Aug 2017I hope these note 8 phones will not have the pink screen issue of the s8.i had to replace it 6... morei didnt have that issue i had it with my s7 edge i replace it 3 times but the s8+ i never had that issue
A 1000$ phone with only 4gb ram plus Samsung's shit quality hardware wow!
But seriously unlike what most say Samsung does have good software but their hardware is what is worse than charity quality.
Only 4GB RAM? hmmm... Should put at least 6GB, Samsung.. you cutting the users with such a price tag too..
I don't likecthey whiting out the sides to make it appear completely bezelless
