thisguy, 02 Aug 2017apple was the first to remove the 3.5mm jack!!!long before ios and android born, we got plenty of phone brands (like LG, Sony Ericksson, motorola, etc) dont use 3,5mm jack at that time, so we need to plug our earphones to the charger slot

Here's what I'm trying to figure out:
#1.Where are the polls showing this massive customer demand for no headphone jack? &
#2. Why the F is Google so intent on having its own version of the iPhone?
I'm still happily using my SGS5 for the simple fact that other than the Note4 and certain Huawei phones, I can't see myself upgrading to anything else. Non-removable battery I guess its more than safe to say we generally can't run from, but this ridiculous trend of no (dedicated) sd card slot, and now no headphone jack! Google nor anyone doing this garbage will be getting my money; and for that I will not apologize

AnonD-687487, 02 Aug 2017Who's manufacturing the Pixels? --- What's the reason to remove the 3.5 mm jack :/ Dumb dum... more A cellphone carrier employed specifically told me that Apple had 3.5 mm jack issues, such as shortages, and at times audio issues. Apparently Nokia Lumia models also experienced this. Thus, apparently, for the 2016 Apple models, said jack was omitted. Samsung's S8 has such a jack... but whether or not the forthcoming S9 will have one is anyone's guess at this point.
