Rasika.., 19 May 2011Plasma displays/high res TVs,we keeps so far from our eyes than a mobile phone display..So,it ... moreCompletely agreed!!! This is exactly what came in my mind...
LCD tv, LED tv and Plasma tv r very far away from our eyes so we can't see the individual pixelation but when we go close to those screens(as much as we hold our phones near our eyes) than we can clearly see every individual pixel as big as 1 cm !!! Just imagine how much poor our mobile's screen will look with that much pixelation.
So to prevent those limitations, phone's screens r being made more and more sharper.
Some "idiot people" just can't undertand it.
Plasma displays/high res TVs,we keeps so far from our eyes than a mobile phone display..So,it is clearer and easy to read if a mobile phone display has a high resolution...When v're in so far from a LED screen,v cannot see those pixels bt a clear picture...But when u are nearby(like 1m),I think you may not b able to even recognize the picture displaying...their pixels are soo bigh like 1 cm...
Yes i agree with the last comment from 'Venren'. You can not see much difference from 720p, 1080i and 1080p on LCD/Plasma screens. So i don't know what its going to do for a phone apart from being a very detailed view, maybe too detailed for the human brain to process efficiently.
Anonymous, 18 May 2011try reading more text on amoled and u will know it lacks iph4's sharpnesstry reading the text on a the smaller 3.3" s-amoled and you'll realise that it's a function of resolution AND screen size
abhi, 18 May 2011Toshiba's 367 ppi 4 inch HD display is coming to market this yr in a phone.
It's officially ... moreWhat? Apple ordered a ton of these displays? :P
And let's admit it Apple's qHD screen was the only thing that was above all Android screens until HTC Sensation will enter the market, but that's 1 year after iPhone 4 release.
Let's see what the iPhone 5 will bring this fall, hope Apple still has something up their sleve, if not Android is right at their tail and then Apple would need to do some catching up. :P
Wasn't the point of retina display is to claim every single display with higher resolution from competitors as a "fake prophet" or not needed ?
At least until Apple PR managed to find their words to say it's their next higher resolution screen is the best thing ever.
Toshiba's 367 ppi 4 inch HD display is coming to market this yr in a phone.
It's officially confirmed by Toshiba now!!!
AnonD-5197, 18 May 2011If Apple's Retina is enough pixel density for human eyes, then what's the point of this? Is i... moreso you don't know that human eye recognizes something around 600ppi
Ok someone pay attention.
1080p is pretty much pointless on a 32 inch TV, so guys what do you think 720p will be on a 4inch screen? Don't get carried away by these marketing tricks.
Same goes for 3D imo, its not a mature tech and the 3D industry will not boom any time soon, especially when Hollywood is not very much fond of the 3D hype either, and by that I mean most directors dislike 3D and their gigantic cameras that are impossible to manouvre like any other.
Anyways who knows......might be wrong about the 2nd part.....time will tell
By the time it takes to get into the market, there will be already a new iphone with an impressive new screen technology....
The current 3D displays out there. Meaning like LG optimus 3D phone or Nintendo 3Ds gaming console do not require 3D glasses to use them in 3D mode. It works just like your 3D television but you don't need glasses to use it.
Unfortunately, GSMArena managed to slip a fanboy-ish statement like "What a shame.." in its news section.
Anyways, I wouldn't care if it'd contain more pixels per inch. What I want is a better battery that could handle the improving quality of mobile phone screens. What for? When you can only use it like 12 hours? Duh! We never buy phones just to stare at the display for the whole day.
The 4" LCD also promises a contrast radio of 1500:1, which is nearly double that of the iPhone 4's display.
Typo .. Radio = Ratio
SONY UX Micro PC in 5 year age had 1024x600
with 4.5 inch .Now sony easly can make full hd resulation lcd.
My wish has come true.. all mobile phone displays should have that resolution.. and yes, I agree any higher than that is a waste of battery life. A 720p screen is perfect for what phones have become these days.
nick, 18 May 2011clearly never owned a phone with a superamoled screen... Id never buy anything else. That's the exact same thing that's preventing me from trying any other phones. The Super Amoled of Samsung is simply that damn good that anything else just don't cut it. It may be over saturated but I like the colors popping.
AnonD-3654, 17 May 2011i still think the super AMOLED plus screen by samsung is a better choice. who cares about pix... moretry reading more text on amoled and u will know it lacks iph4's sharpness
If Apple's Retina is enough pixel density for human eyes, then what's the point of this? Is it gonna be available for Tablets?? That would be awesome...
Those who think SAMOLED+ is better than this are dreaming.
My next phone must have Toshiba's display. Incredible.
Battery? BATTERY??
Invent a better battery then put faster CPUs and bigger stronger displays....
