Holographically display is the best I have ever seen
AnonD-185368, 06 Aug 2017quantom dot or trilominous whatever you want to call it it's still and lcd with an led back li... moreIt's not a filter like a regular lcd, the led excites electrons in the dots, which then emit pure red, green or blue. There is a filter which determines how much of the led light gets to the dots, but the light you see on comes from the dots.
S8 has best amoled of Samsung. It has 142% sRGB.
XZ Premium has best LCD of Sony. It has 138% sRGB.
Just a small difference.
So the futere oled Xperia will probably reach a much higher value than future Note 9.
it's hard to find fhd amoled at budget phones i think only lenovo p2 have that
AnonD-185368, 06 Aug 2017quantom dot or trilominous whatever you want to call it it's still and lcd with an led back li... moreYou just said, "better color depth" is the special
Ha ha I have used AMOLED only for over five years now on many different phones, but just for that one month I used the iPhone 7, and I voted for LCD. Why? Simple. Superb calibration out of the factory, should be extremely important for any phone having a decent enough camera. Class leading sunlight readability, I mean its so much better than my Pixel's damn it. I will take that in the blink of an eye of infinite contrast ratio thanks. A display, any display, should be without any gimmick, simple as that, HDR being one of the newest trend I see, which will vanish in matter of time.
LCD for me as of now. Pixel XL user anyway.
PS: Forgot to say, burn in is still a problem with AMOLED units I hear, I personally have never experienced it (never had any phone for more than a year anyway), but have seen more than enough reports to deduce its a real problem, so thanks, no to that.
I request to all people don't becum blind. Samsung amoled display when select basic mood then clearity of videos and photos gone, looks dull color and in adoptive mood colors are overstated, for example you wear a green or any light color shirt its looks so much green or any color looks over saturated, greenry looks very very green mean every color looks opposite of its originaity.. Do you like this type of display in which everything is fake and whole secreen looks overstated.. Now come to the point samsung is not a research company they don't know how a ideal display created, problem is 90 percent customers don't have any knowledge about display so they lime tbese type of display, sony triluminus and x_reality display is amazing, deep colors not oversaturated, and its a Research base company, sony, s approach always gorgeous and out of world, please think
quantom dot or trilominous whatever you want to call it it's still and lcd with an led back lit quantom dot is a filter between the lcd and the led that that illuminates the pixels to give better color depth nothing special about it
If and just if LCDs minimum brightness :
Was " ABOUT 2 NIT" unfortunately it wasn't too...
answer the question is really easy
LCDs R the worst scenario in dark places
LTPS LCD is not bad too
Androidloveralways, 06 Aug 2017Lol. Sony said it would develop such technology in future and incorporate it into smartphones.... moreI owned a Sony Xperia Z2(made in 2014) which had Quantum dot...
I have light sensitive eye so hate that the screens are getting brighter & the low end are even getting brighter I have to almost have the brightness slider off.
whatever. we already know there is a superior display for smartphones in all aspects including costs.
things change for larger displays such as TVs and monitors.
so many amoled and samsung fanboys. If Amoled was without problems, it would have replaced lcd completely.
Really it doesn't matter to me, as long as it supports Always-On Display and is power-efficient.
AnonD-39937, 06 Aug 2017You're wrong, Sony's Triluminous displays use Quantum Dot screens (or let's say "Q-led" as Sam... moreLol. Sony said it would develop such technology in future and incorporate it into smartphones.
Please research properly.
All of sudden, oled is great amazing no more bashing. Thanks to Samesong started the trend haha, servants always obey the master.
AMOLED ofc. Once you've tried AMOLED you'll never go back to an LCD.
IPS!
amoled's (at least most of them) have a horrible ghosting (I've only tried smasung's amoled)
also they look s a little strange even at qhd (although a lot less) it's like you can see the dots instead of squares which makes it look weird.
althought it takes a year to notice but they have a burn in too. not only that but the screen gets yellowish after a while and the top bar remains the same.
It is not only display.
It is also about images being processed.
Two brands can use same screen, results will be different.
Pixel XL has the flat version of S7e's screen.
