Surely if you're not voting for: 'Only quality matters' then you're just shamelessly fanboying???
Anonymous, 06 Aug 2017because OLED is different from AMOLED, obviouslyAMOLED is a type and a brand for Samsung OLEDs. LG's POLEDs utilizing similar technology, but under different brand.
regs, 06 Aug 2017AMOLEDs have poor viewing angles - significant color shift even on little angles. Haven't seen... more1st of all about amoled is your technically lying they have excellent viewing angles. 2nd is those other guys your pointing at dont even exist yet on the marker.
Ciro76, 06 Aug 2017I prefer 4k hd ips, crapamoled pentiline low resolution destroy my eyesuseless 4k lcd display that doesnt support daydream ?
AMOLEDs have poor viewing angles - significant color shift even on little angles. Haven't seen Quantum Dots. But why only Samsung AMOLED is in poll? Why not to group all OLEDs?
So, so far Sharp ASVA and IPS IGZO.
Voted for quality. And waiting for RGBW JOLED.
I prefer 4k hd ips, crapamoled pentiline low resolution destroy my eyes
DQ, 06 Aug 2017After seeing many burn ins AMOLED displays even on recent devices such as an S6 (a year ago) I... moreI not sure how you can burn in your screen
I use A7 2016 1 and half year not seeing burn in issue.
Quantum Dot is the future, amoled is ok but looks washed out in bright light, also kills the battery if you are outdoors. Indoors it's good,
Overall I don't think it's worth the price, £350 -£400 to replace the s8 display
hi i'm a sony f@nboy. lcd is the best. the best of the best. better than all kind of displays. i hope sony will use lcd forever. i love u sony
I literally don't care. Make the display whatever you want, but if it isn't good, don't expect me to want it.
TheHater, 06 Aug 2017IPS LCD for yesterday, Quantum Dot for today, CLEDIS for tomorrow.
In short, Sony is the past... moreIPS LCD for yesterday, OLED for today, microLED for the future
I don't care about burn-in as long as it goes away, not like plasma where it stays. Coming from an iPhone user who just bought a LG OLED TV and waits for apple to do the change as well.
TeamAndroid, 06 Aug 2017Crapple is heading towards it bc it's cheap What do you mean cheap? Amoled is more expensive than LCD look at the BOM reports for a galaxy S7 and LG G5 or Z5 Premium. Amoled screens take a huge chunk from the parts.
Obi Wan Kenobi, 06 Aug 2017I think the answer will "AMOLED all the way", considering even Apple is heading towards it.Crapple is heading towards it bc it's cheap
All my phones were mostly LCD : Huawei and now LG V20, so I can't really compare. You have to pay premium for Amoled. I had S7 edge shortly and couldnt see much difference. My biggest issue with LCD is they are very bright in the night, screen dimmers don't dim nav buttons (or 2nd screen).
