AnonD-633729, 07 Aug 2017Sony's lcds have burn in issues whereas I have never seen samsung amoled burn in.I'm on my 4th Sony smartphone. The oldest is from 2012 and neither it, nor the others, have screen burn in.
[deleted post]Ok thanks for the precision. I always try to be objective in my opinions so if people get to think I'm a fanboy I would be really concerned.

AnonD-633729, 07 Aug 2017Sony's lcds have burn in issues whereas I have never seen samsung amoled burn in.Hum, let's get real for a second. It's a known fact that due to their nature, all OLED display solutions are vulnerable to burn-ins. I gotta check back at my local BestBuy, but LCDs in general are less prone to that phenomenon. You can go check by yourself, all demo Galaxy S7s should be burned as it's been more than a year that they are always on playing their demo video that no one cares about.

Oh right. Your oversaturated AMOLED burn in Samsung phone screen has displayed a clean and uniform white of Sony's IPS LCD Triluminos display as yellowish burned in panel.
It's time that you get a new phone and see what you're supposed to see, not what you want to see.
[deleted post]Super AMOLED is just a branding. AMOLED displays are built by Samsung. Super AMOLED means that this display is tuned for a wide color gamut and "oversaturated" colors.

I'm partial to IPS LCD due to the confidence that my screen will not burn in regardless of what's on it or how often I use it. In particular, I like the 4K quantum dot Triluminos display of my Sony Xperia XZ Premium. This is after having a Galaxy S7 which is no slouch.

The reason Xperias is not selling as much as samsung is because the marketing team and strategy sucks badly. Inconsistent naming and products, bad promo ads, etc.
Sony does have good phones, but meh, no one knows they exist lmao.
Anonymous, 07 Aug 2017Stop spreading the wrong facts.its not wrong. amoled saves batter when displaying blacks and but spends more energy when displaying white. So actually overall LCD uses about the same energy regardless and therefore more energy effecient.
