The stupidity in that line from the article is so great it even escaped the author - he first said that the appearance is a subjective matter, but then immediately say the phone looks unpleasant and breaks screen experience, and he does this without assuming his statement by saying "for me", no, he say like its an general and universal truth, meaning for everybody.

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2017So this shows sharp supplies the screen for essential phone. Some questions, can 630 power 4k ... moreexactly what I was wondering. I'd be shocked if that delivered consistently smooth performance but then its worth remembering the android implementation of 4K where its not active in menus, general apps, home screens etc but instead is active in the camera app,gallery and video playback apps. I'm not sure about games but if they run at around 1080p then maybe this works as a setup, 4K only when required
the bonus is that 1080p looks nicer on a 4K display because you have multiple physical pixels representing a rendered/software pixel rather than a single pixel made up of a subpixel array of colours that may look weird even though the user can't tell why it is uncomfortable to stare at
