Sometimes is comic how Apple fans use arguments from years ago to compare 2014 or so technologies with current Apple products. Like samsung's over saturated screens which isn't true for like 4 years, or IP68 rating on smartwatches that every other smartwatch had before the Apple Watch.
True things that Apple is ahead since past year and this year again, like their SOCs are rarely, if ever mentioned. And some still says dumb things like "most apps don't use 8 cores".
That only points out: the ONLY thing Apple makes better than others is a SUPERB marketing!!

I mean the 7 wasn't perfect with those rounded corners and sides making the phone slippery but then reachability got us out of that problem. Android needs that baked in. Samsung are the only ones even considering that with their scaling to one handed mode.

I'm assuming that when powered on the top edge of the normal screen will be straight across and only the status indicators will be visible across the top left and right sides of the cutout, and hopefully only on a black background so it gives the style of a straight line for everything else on the top of the normal screen. If not, it would look and feel awkward.

I bet it's beautiful in person, as most Apple products are.
If the camera is as good as the leaks seem to indicate it will be, this will be the phone to beat for the next year.

mark, 09 Aug 2017yeah very bad design and yet android OEM will follow that design once IP8 will release :)Of course some will. However the main part of the idea already exists in Android devices.
However just like iPhone follows other design cuts from other phones and some other androids follow other devices....some will follow this design
