AnonD-684709, 09 Aug 2017You truly have my deepest, heartfelt sympathy for having the big misfortune of being a Samsung... moreIos does less plain and simple.
If my car lasts a month between refueling is not necessarily because it is efficient it can also be because I move it very rarely.
Once an app takes the foreground most of backround processes cease. For moat users that is a good, but it creates great problem. Like the sharing ability on ios being linited (on android it can theoretically be litmitless, share any content w any app). Or things that are drawn over the top like chatheads, or two multiasking by having websites being loaded on the background.
Again, not things that laymen would use. But let us not pretend that that is efficiency. An iphone simply does less and you can even measure how much less processes go on on the bqckround at any given moment.,,
I much prefer many processes + big battery as a way to get great autonomy, instead of small battery + few processes.
Carol, 11 Aug 2017Oled? For real? Are we in the '90's? I love this guys, they bring back the ugliest screen that... moreOled is the only game in town in TVs.
Oleds did not exist in blue, that was only invented in late 90s.
Oled is the latest tech in imaging and the only worth its salt until we go to full holography. It is weird indeed that LCD screens are still being produced. The horrible greys (instead of black), the horrible power consumption (backlight always on), the dinky contrast, the unnatural faded colours...
As per DisplayMate the Samsungs have the best mobile screens in the world (most natural, accurate colours).
As per TV enthusiasts it is the series 6 and 7 of LG. (Again, oled).
In general LCD is a 1980s tech that was only arificially kept alive by Apple. Apple finally decided to do the right thing to out it to rest, almost a decade oldee than it should have been...
Oled? For real? Are we in the '90's? I love this guys, they bring back the ugliest screen that never succeeded. Oled. Bravo, now, go fast and patent the nothing you inovated boys.
Samsung, 09 Aug 2017Apple is a basic phone, the Samsung S8 is a portable computer, IOS is smooth, yeah its its own... moreNo, apple phones are the best, extremely smooth and best ever operating system. Buy an iphone only.....
Apple is a basic phone, the Samsung S8 is a portable computer, IOS is smooth, yeah its its own maker os and device, it should be stable and smooth. SAmsung is using a compatible OS which is android, and i find it very good. S8 is a great device, last MUCH longer than an Iphone and camera is way better. They are different phones, but for me iphone should be for people that is a simple phone user, im not, a need a phone to open documents, work on them and do many work with it. Thats why FOR ME, and my NEEDS S8 is better.
Anonymous, 09 Aug 2017Haha.. You made me laugh too.. You confused with designed for beauty and design for function..... moreYou truly have my deepest, heartfelt sympathy for having the big misfortune of being a Samsung fan, especially considering the crap they're putting out currently. That must be really hard.
What have "runway models" and "muscle to work" to do with Samsung's pitiful design failures? Nothing. I wonder who is the confused one here XD
Also, iOS is far more efficient, so I bet the 2900 mAh in the iPhone 7 Plus would last much longer than the 3300 mAh in the S8 Note. But besides that, it's still much too small, which is why I don't currently own an iPhone, but a Huawei Mate 9. Awesone big 4000 mAh battery, and lovely big 5.9" screen.
In case the iPhone 8 brings along a decently sized battery, I might consider it.
But back to the colour. The longer I think about those leaked photos, the more I think they're fake. The well established and very popular colours Gold and Rose Gold are absent, and what's worse, Red is absent as well. Instead we get this copper tone, and I don't quite know what to make of it. Not sure if Apple would really release such a colour, especially not to replace other established and popular colours.

So it is going to be a battle between the iPhone 8, Galaxy Note 8 and Nokia 8.. What a great three way shoot out it will be :DD
"imagine your high end phone has an identical look to one of their cheap phones"
Hahaha the mentality of iphone users. How about everyone around you using the same phone as you? Iphone 6, 6s, 7 all look the same to me.

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2017Did a great mistake switching from Apple to galaxy s 8 - which is nothing but cheap imitation ... moreI made an even greater mistake of switching to iOS. It is simply the worst mobile OS ever.
Did a great mistake switching from Apple to galaxy s 8 - which is nothing but cheap imitation of iOS.Believe me or not even Google app is better in iOS . Waiting for iPhone 7s ..
Anonymous, 09 Aug 2017One more thing.. Movies are all recorded in 21:9 format.. So there are plenty of content that ... moreThose 21:9 movies are better optimized for 16:9 ratio, and besides, why do we have 18:9 when we can just have 21:9 instead?
That's the stupidity that that person's talking about.

If you can count Samsung release different kind of phones more than thrice a year.. like 1-10 phones in a year. J series/A series/c series/note series/active series/prime series/mini series/duos series/ galaxy grand/galaxy max/galaxy mega series/ .. this is the main reason Samsung phones depreciate faster than apple.. imagine your high end phone has an identical look to one of their cheap phones. LOL..
