I love my amoled on my ever faithful HTC A9. It's as good as the day I bought it. I accept colours can look a little saturated at u Joe's u but it's nice. I wondered what the new Nokia flagship will use as I might get it. One report said super LCD and the brightest nits. Guess we will know this week. Whichever way, likely quality.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2017It should be about quality not the screen type And when the quality is on par between both them smiled comes out ahead objectivity

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2017That is the "cry corner" for Sony fanboysYou do realize in your blind hate all you really said was that Sony fans are a line group to the side that care only for quality.
Which is basically the exact opposite of what happens when it comes to those extremists.
Which are the exact group you thought you were bashing on in the first place...

The only reason why most people voted on AMOLED is that they are brainwashed by the paid reviewers and the marketing.

But in reality, LCD is much better than AMOLED overall.

I have seen several Samsung AMOLED screens burn in after 1-2 years of usage.

TheHeater, 13 Aug 2017People still mistake IPS LCD for Quantum Dot. How funny LMAO. The latter is a type of IPS LCD... moreEven though samsung pushed the tech to where it is in mobiles for the past 8 years constantly improving it and dwarfing the competing tech.....
Their tech sucks and Sony is superior because after 8 years of advancement their is better type that's been in hard research and development that took years and is not even full on it yet.
But sony us better because when this type is more available sony will use it.
How dare samsung nor be using it. And because they are not their type sucks even though it has been deemed number one every year.

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2017Your comment is a joke. AMOLED screens do not burn-in when displaying blacks, because the diod... moreAnd that's pretty much only where AMOLEDs are good at.
But I bet for $1000 that you will only display black contents on your phone for the entirety of your usage to it.
Web browsing is below average to average for AMOLED screens, and I'm not here to defend an inferior display technology.
Truth be said, AMOLED is the superior technology (but not the future), but people who say that AMOLEDs have evolved much, also forgets how IPS LCDs did evolve for years.

My sister currently owns an LG G4 and it has some promising black levels. Promising, that blacks are physically pitch black when set at 0% brightness (unless you have an Eagle eye that can see even the faintest of light).
