Anonymous, 13 Aug 2017If it comes with a camera like the 1020 had, give me a hump any day and I will rock it proudly.Right?! Especially combined with a new aperture, improved sensor tech, new image processor, with a good improved cancers ui, and so on.

A couple from moto near that thickness did get bigger batteries in recent models though

Camera tech snd battery efficiency have improved a lot.
But still not enough for people that want these super thin phones. But most of them are complaining about camera bumps.
So camera tech has actually been haulted from what it could have been just because everyone wants a thinner phone. But those same people are going to complain about a camera bump.
So you not only want camera technology to continue to hault, but to actually sit at a stand still or go backwards.
Just so your phone can get thinner and not have a little bump? And then have even worse battery life??????
Never like a case for a phone as it destroy the design of the phone itself...

They have had the camera up.in the corner above the display where the sensor could use the entire thickness of the device.
And generally used a smaller sensor. And even the small iphone without ois with everything else still had a bump.
It depends. Motorola's recent phones have unsightly camera humps due to thin profile of their phones where it could have been thicker through larger batteries. I hate it when I see people putting an effort to charge their phones during the day. iPhones are not excluded, they have poor battery life for power users.
Increase the thickness a bit, so that the camera modules can sit flush with the body.
At the same time, u can put a bigger battery inside and for the love of god, keep the 3.5mm jack.
Humps ain't bad, tinny battery for a smartphone is! I prefer flat tho. If the case is just like thin latest iPhone 7+, they could still add the thickness for more battery to uniform its thickness and make it flat without sacrificing the look of the phone but we know people demand thin phones, larger screens, smaller camera sensors
Anonymous, 13 Aug 2017Of course flat is better, as long as it's a bit thicker with a better battery and at least the... moreTotally agree. Increase thickness of phone a smidge to accommodate camera so it's flush, looks better, also allows for good battery and other internals.
They simply doesn't matter until and unless you do not use a back cover case. The only thing that matters to me is a big sensor, a bright aperture and great picture as well as video quality.
The Motorola Nexus had the right idea. Thick enough in the middle to fit all the tech flush, but thin enough to hold at the sides.
